Well, like the title says, I won a game show last week. It is called Pass Time, and will air on Speed Network sometime in February.

Some of you may recall I made a trip to Memphis last month for the same show, but didn't get make it on the show because they ran out of cars to run. This time it was at Bradenton Motorsports Park in Florida, and I made it on and won!! The show was on a few times last year called Name That Test and Tune, but was renamed Pass Time for this season. It's pretty much the same thing, just a little higher budget with electronic consoles for the contestants, more cameras, more prize money, etc.

The basic premise of the show is this: 3 contestants competing to guess the E/T of a car on the drag strip. A car pulls up, the driver tells us a little about his car. Each contestant gets to ask one detailed question about the car. The car then makes a pass, and the closest guess wins the round. At the end of the show, the contestant with the most $$ takes the other contestant's $$ for a winner-take-all. Total prize money is $2,000.

All in all, it was a great trip. 83F and sunny compared to 30F and snowy in Missouri was a nice getaway. Plus the $2,000 prize was a heck of a Christmas bonus!!

The only bad part of the whole weekend was guessing the time of an 05 Mustang GT manual tranny. The guy told us it was stock except a CAI. I asked him if he had any computer tunes, and he looked suprised and confused when he said "no". As far as we could tell, no other mods...stock tires, not lowered, etc. I guessed 13.8 I think....and he ran a 13.0. I lost that round, and boy was I suprised!! I think something else was going on there that he didn't tell us!!!

Anyway, be on the lookout in February for the show. It used to be part of the "Launch Hour" on Speed, but now it should be out on it's own. Pretty cool experience!

There was a couple of imports, a Subaru I think, a pair of '69 Camaro's, and one bad-a$$ taxi!! 10 cars in total I think. The final score was me $1,400, contestant #2 = $500, contestant #3 = $100. #3 was Ken Herring, the "resident expert" who travels with the show and is on every episode trying to keep us from winning. If he wins, the show keeps the money. He didn't do so well on my episode, but he did win on the two episodes taped before me... so I was a little worried going into the show.

Yeah, I'll try and post when it airs if I can figure it out. I doubt they will notify me. The whole thing seemed very thrown together and very disorganized...at least from the contestant's point of view.

What to spend the $$ on...well, I'm thinking some LCA's so I can go back to the track and not fear breaking anything with that nasty wheel hop. I've been eyeing the J&M ones for some time now. www.hotpart.com

Thats awesome, I saw that show a couple times last year when it was on, pretty good. My favorite is still Pinks-all out.

Yeah, it is pretty different this season vs. last. This season they actually put a little money into the show and have some computerized stands for the contestants. They also are not using snowmobiles and jet cars...just regular street and strip cars. It's filmed in HD too, so that should make it look a lot cleaner.

Here is an article in our local newspaper about the game show. One of my friends is a reporter and she wanted to do a story about the experience. I don't really know why they put it on the obituaries page, but hey...whatever. She also got my age wrong, I'm 26 not 27...whatever.
