This is my future counsin-in-law's first hand experience in New Orleans. His photographic journal spans five days, from Sunday, August 31 to Thursday, September 4. He was working and living in New Orleans up until last Friday. He left to Houston and flew to Miami on Monday. He has lost everything but happy to be alive. This is his photos and story.
Please take a look, its very powerful.

wow... that was amazing. some of those photos are really touching.
all those people down there (minus the @#$%ers who looted a flipping shoe store and then tried to burn it) are in my prayers.
the lone fireman photo was really touching as well.
for the record, i hope that those who looted non-essentials, like shoes, jewlery and crap will burn in HADES!!!!
