Feeling very grateful

Three months ago yesterday I lost my apartment in a fire. While it was a blessing that no one was injured, it has been a long three months for me while I have had to rebuild my life. I was further blessed in that I both had time to grab a lot of irreplaceable things on my way out and most of the personal things I left behind miraculously survived. (Thank you Rubbermaid tote bins!) However, I did lose all of my appliances and furniture, or so I thought. While my insurance allowed me to replace by damaged belongings. One thing that could not be replaced was a (still functional) hi-fi that belonged to my grandparents for over 45 years. I was heartbroken to see it after the fire. I was told that there may be a chance that it could be saved, so I removed all the electronics and handed the cabinet over to the insurance company.

Tonight I have been preparing to host a 'Thank you to all my awesome friends'-house warming party this weekend, and I received an unexpected delivery:

While I know that it is only an object, I still can't help but feel a wave of emotion every time I look at it. I am so grateful to God and to all the people (and companies) who have been so amazingly helpful to me over these past months.

I can't wait for Saturday.

Thats a tear jerker! I say it only because when my grandfather's second floor caught fire the water and smoke damage to the first floor meant we threw out a lot of my grandmother's belongings we had been keeping. Then when he passed I could never find his pipes. They ARE only objects, but sometimes just a look of something or smell can really pull at your heart strings. Its a beautiful restoration and am very glad you got it back!
