I find it intersesting that we can "humanely" put animals out of their misery but if it is a human being they have to suffer a slow death even if they are able to make the decision themselves.
i hope im gone long before the nursing home days....

I've had grandparents in homes...the looks on the faces of these people tell you that they're just waiting to die. Forget that garbage,I'll off myself before going to one of those places.
I think thats one of the biggest problems with our society today is we dont take care of our own. I realize there are special circumstances where they may be violent or require 24 hour attention, ie alzheimers becomes unmanagable at home at some point... but other than that were just to selfish to take care of those who took care of us. I wont do that to my parents or my inlaws. They deserve better, hopefully my kids will agree when it comes time to put me out to pasture. Maybe they'll just give me a wrench and an old riding lawn mower (no blades of course) instead of putting me in a foreign place to die. Maybe some flame stickers to put on the side, that would be nice. I could put my O2 bottle on the back and make it look like a nitrous bottle.
