I agree its a lot harder to like a lot of the new music. Most of it is rewritten old music, and a lot of new pop style music is computerized to where most of it doesn't sound good and the singer's don't even have to be good. I stick to a lot of new rock and metal though, you just can't beat guitar, drums and bass with a bad*** singer

On April 19th went and saw digital summer, trivium, and volbeat! It was a great concert. I had never heard of digital summer and after I got home bought like 3 of their albums. Good stuff!

I saw John Cougar when he opened for Heart as well. I actually went just because I wanted to see him, but ended up really liking Heart. I saw them again on another tour where they recorded a live album, Rock the House Live. They had us practice singling for a new song they recording and releasing.

My first concert ever was Billy Joel at the Providence Civic Center. 1980 or 1981 I think. Tickets were like $13 back then. He's one of my favorites and I try to see him whenever he comes around.

Other shows in no particular order were:

Bruce Springsteen
Kenny Rogers - Sawyer Brown opened
Def Leppard
Fleetwood Mac - Men at Work opened
Stevie Nicks several times. Peter Frampton and Joe Walsh were openers.
Pat Benatar several times. Billy Squire opened at least one of the shows. 3rd row front center. Best seats ever for a concert
Rod Stewart
J. Geils - New years eve show
REO Speedwagon - Survivor opened
The Cars - Worst live band ever. 45 minutes, no opener. Like listening to an album.
Styx - Paradise Theater tour, great show!
Foreigner - Billy Squire opened. Someone let off an M-80 in the Hartford Civic Center. Cops were smelling everyones fingers in my section!
ELO - Sucked. Did a bunch of medleys of their songs instead of full versions
Elton John w/Billy Joel
Huey Lewis and the News
Journey
Bob Seger - Peter Wolfe opened
Pink - Most recent show. Awesome show!

Probably a lot more I can't think of. Mostly happened in the 80's. The brain is forgetful these days!

They put on a GREAT show. They did kind of irritate us though. The deal was backstage with Filter/10 Years/Opiate for the Masses. We showed up 2 hours early thinking we'd have to fight for a parking spot.....not a soul there aside from the radio station we won the tickets from and Filter's tour bus had just showed up. 10 Years was supposedly on there way and Opiate for the Masses had to cancel due to the lead singer being ill. The meet and great was supposed to start at 7pm, we had been hanging out with filter since about 5:15. 10 Years didnt up up showing up till 7:45 while the concert started at 8. So we got about 5 minutes to get autographs and such. So their fan treatment could be better but the show itself was amazing. There's not very many bands anymore that are as good or better live than they are on the radio.

Me, the wife, and 10 years.

Me and Filter

I've been to more concerts that I can remember! Some of the best ones were:

Slayer Reign in Blood tour in 1986.
Anthrax, Testament and Death Angel in 2012
Slayer, Rob Zombie and Exodus in 2011
I've also saw Lynyrd Skynyrd, Crosby Stills and Nash, KISS, The Tubes, W.A.S.P., Krokus, Metallica, Linkin Park, Deftones, Mudvane, King Diamond, Black Flag, D.R.I., Y&T. that's off the top of my head. Most of the shows were in Sacramento, CA between 1979 to 1990. Their was a place called The Eldrado Saloon where I saw most of the smaller concerts. Tickets at the door, standing room only. It was awesome. A lot of Punk rock gigs in the mid 80's. Best times of my life!

Killswitch engage is on my list of bands to see and they'll be in council bluffs in a couple weeks. Think I'll have to make that 5 hour drive. And going to see Loverboy again in council bluffs may 25 before I move!
Planning on moving to Atlanta sometime in June and def leppard will be down there in July so I'll definitely hit that one up.
