Computer failure
I didn't get it here.
I had a bad bug/vires.that I couldn't shake off. I used all my efforts but nothing helped. I went to system/recovery/reset twice. I bought a new computer to replace the old one..Fuuny thing as my former back-up had Windows 7. I couldn't get into it. Who remembers a password from 15+ years ago?
The former would just freeze up for no reason. I could restart and it would happen again?
Sorry for the rant but I spent 8 wasted hours, [/rant over].

Rant #2.
My wife has a Vanguard account that I helped to set up 30+ years ago, They recently talked her to going paperless. They will not send her the new 2023 Tax Form 1099. She has to set up an account with a 2 -step activation with passwords to get her tax information I told her go go back to paper forms.

Computers. Can't live with them and can't live without them. Wait, that sounds familiar....
Still doing the federal and state income taxes on paper here. Won't stop until they won't accept paper anymore.

My wife and I went to a younger accountant (her family). He was surprised that I still did the paper!
No problem as she will need an accountant after I am gone.

I got my original computer back on the third reload, I have a new one as well.
I also destroyed three previous units. I forgot the entry passwords on two of three of them. I still took the hard-drive and battery out and took a big hammer to the rest of it.
Did I overreact? Maybe so. Yet, the hackers have gotten into important U.S. Government data as well as Big Corporate Data. Excuse me for protecting our stuff.
