comp trouble
hey guys my computer has been down for a while....the motherboard was fried and we don't think it's worth replacing it....we gonna have to get a new computer...probably a dell e510....I miss this site so much! I have not been on here forever it seems like....my dad is probably gonna order a new comp this next week
You would be surprised at how cheap you can get mobos. A cheap one can be under 80 bucks. For a nice one its usually under 200. I build my own computers, but if you're buying a new one, make sure its not the cheapest one on the market. What are the specs on the computer thats "fried." Is it a P4?

True, I do agree about the upgradability part, but compatability and file structure I beg to differ. With everything mac, there is an export feature to a common windows standard. That can be the default, or the exception if you deal with more Macs. ie: I have Apple's iWork suite. Their word processor saves in .doc format natively.
Also, file structure, yes is different, but I am a recent (one year ago) switcher myself. After a little playing with it, its much more intuitive. ie: all applications are stored in one folder. ALL of the application, no registry, no system files to manipulate, just one file that holds the entire application. That file itself can also be edited if need be, but its just one simple little file.
