Cold Air vs. Hot Air

So my folks asked me what I wanted for Christmas, I told 'em I wanted the FRPP Cold Air kit for my car, it's a nice safe tune and comes with a spiffy air box thats says Ford Racing.

On the way back from the folk's place last night I decided to see what happens when you add a good bit of power and mix it with some very cool air (31F), this is what I learned;

A) Factory Goodyears in cool weather (granted they are summer tires) are useless

B) My car might be a brick, but WOW thats the fastest I've ever hit 140mph in my life.

That is all...

Y'know I've thought about it, but I'd probably end up like that guy in japan that pimped the F40 vids and got busted.

Although if I ever get a chance to buzz around on a road course I might just do it

My Bullitt was kinda wild the other day. Slightly Damp highway 30 degrees and 3/4 throttle in second gave me a thrill. Had to go home and change my underwareZ.

I ran on the dyno at lower temps (the garage had no heat).
It ran a solid 15 more HP than a warm day (5% gain).

I tried to estimate power gain based on air density that night, but I'm unsure with an S/C equipped vehicle if its a relavent calculation? At the very least, I know the engine wasn't pulling any timing and I was getting all the power.
