Sweet Holy crap its fuggin cold outside. 27? highs in the 40s? Jeez! Plus with our stupid natural gas heating system, we get to be cold AND broke!

On the bright side, it puts me in a christmasey mood. On the dark side- It won't end until the end of February!

And here its just miserly cold without the benefit of snow to play in. Which is a good thing, Snow and Alabama don't mix very well.

Arctic air will chill Alabama for the next 24 to 48 hours as strong winds today carry bitter cold across the state. The lows for Birmingham are forecast to be 18 and 17 on Friday and Saturday mornings, said Ken Lorek, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Calera.
The Weather Service has issued a hard freeze warning — a step normally only taken when the low is forecast to be 15 or less — as different areas of the metro region may see different lows. “It’s a regular Arctic blast, bringing the lowest readings of the early winter season,� Lorek said.
The Weather Service warned people to take special care with portable heaters, because of the danger of fires or poisonous fumes. A low of 18 on Friday would be the second-lowest for Dec. 8 seen in Birmingham in 111 years. The record low is 16 on Nov. 8, 1917. A low of 17 on Saturday would tie for the third coldest temperature on that date in 111 years.

I got all the power I can use. Besides, its always warm in the playhouse upstairs because it is in the attic. It warmed up enought today for me to come outside and chop down some winter killed plants.

That and I finally learned how to crochet afghans, and I know I won't be in Bama for another winter- ORLANDO BOUND

 

I like needle point I used to mess with my X she'd be at work and if I was board I do some and got kinda good the tension was way better all even.
Heat really does rise ! as April has proved it.

Ellabee is the only way I keep truly warm- I take her out and crank the heat up all the way.

You know maybe it is cheaper to live in the car or utikize its heat source for when its cold out, as opposed to the gas & electric company.

 

F the gas company. I have no complaint with the power company.

Its in the 70s here today, I think that means we are about to get screwed with bad weather or something. Like I am going to complain though, I like being warm.

Ew! Cold!

I forgot to turn the heat back on last night- I woke up freezing. This stupid gas heat doesn't heat the house even- and you freeze your toes off walking through the kitchen.

 

what the hell? It's going to be in the 60's today. Last week it was 10 degrees out, cold enough to freeze my parking brake. New england weather is f'in wacky
