Cat is Bringer of Death

Oscar the cat curls up next to a patient, and within four hours the patient dies

You ever heard the old wives tell, about cats stealing your breath while you are sleeping?

+1 for Scott's response. I'm also allergic.

Rusty, I have heard that tale, hence my usual hatred of cats. There are very few cats that agree with me

I think animals can sense things. Like for instance when my wife was pregnant, the weims (dogs) acted completely different around her and wont come up and sniff her belly and be real gentle with her where as before they'd jump up on you and knock you over almost. Another example is hours before a storm, my female weim will go hide under a desk. It will be sunny and hot, then 2 hour later black, thundering and lightning.

I think they sense death and illness in the same way.

I think there was a stephen king movie where like wall gnomes would steal your breath. Ironically the cat killed one if I remember right.

No firsthand experience there but I've heard alot of folk mention animals' ability to know whats going to happen weatherwise before. The death/illness one is news to me though

Rather interesting

I know my cat sammee knows all too well when I'm not feeling well. I'm not sure how..maybe i give off subtle clues but when I'm sick she stays right next to me and she is normally a very aloof cat.
I'm sure if This cat is indeed there because of the death then it's a chemical deal thathe is picking up..but on the face of it it's very odd. Reminds me of Dead Like Me

and scott I think that is Cat's Eye you are reffering to

Cat's Eye The mother joked about the old wive's tale. Cats just regularly put their faces up next to yours and take a sniff at your breath. If you make a 'kissy face' near a cat's face they will do it 90% of the time. Dog's just stick their wet noses in your eye socket or ear

It is very possible the cat's sense of smell has a lot to do with its behavior.

My wife treats cancer patients and there are dogs that can smell cancer in their owners before the patient has been diagnosed.

True my wife would know everytime I spent money ?
As a kid we used to take critters to hospitals , it would help build up the patients spirits and then some. Stephen King movie again with Oscar the 4 hr cat
