Unhappy Bye Bye big dog, and hello new dog

It is with regret that I have to let you know that our big dog, amber, had to be put to sleep on Sunday. She was very peaceful and quiet when it happened, and has a permanent resting place at the farm. She was a couple of months over 10 years old.
Bye bye big dog. I will miss you.

And yesterday........

I couldn't be without a dog so we went to the Manchester dogs home and found Blue (or Bluey). He is a 6 month old dog that looks like he might be an Australian Shepherd that is waiting to "fill out".

He gets on excellently with Leo, Chick, and is tolerating the cats permanently spitting at him. He needs some training in obedience, but looks like he will make a fine dog.
Anyway, here he is. Please meet Bluey, one of the most bizarre looking dogs I have seen in a while!

Sorry to hear about your dog. Losing a pet (especially after having one for 10 years) is never an easy thing. The new dog will help you get through it though. Also looks like he enjoys having his picture taken

Thanks Mate. He is great, but will never be a replacement for Amber. She was one of a kind, and I will miss her terribly. She was a real character.

Sorry to hear about Amber, it is always sad to lose a pet. But welcome to Bluey! He is unique looking. My dog is Chocolate Lab and Australian Shepherd, and she's the best dog I've ever owned.

We are picking up a Sheltie in October to replace our dog the passed in May. Seems most people need a dog.

We just lost our Poodle of 11 years. It was, and still is heart breaking. I'm sure we'll find another, but will need some down time for a while for the wifie.

My grandparents had a Poodle that lived for more than 12 years. He had to be put down but will always be remembered with love. Get well soon and give another dog a good home. Peace.
