then.

Chattanooga is only just under 3 from here.
BUT I can only keep myself amused for 2 days there and thats all I can spare.

Is Gatlinburg proper still all fun? I haven't been there since I was 14.
With the fake snow on Ober Gatlinburg.

I applaud you for going to the TOP of mountains, I would totally freak out- even point park sends me into a panic.

Awesome pics Scott!!! I really like the jellyfish and the creek water rushing over the rocks.

Those are my favorites as well!

Scott do you have any type of zoom lense now? Outdoor/Animals are what I mainly take pictures of on the side. I've only done one wedding, but time is what prevents me from doing more really. That and I really prefer the wildlife photos more.

All of those pictures are great. I can't wait to see more of yours.

The only zoom i have is the 18-55mm that came with teh nikon. I am probably going to get the cheap nikon 70-300 lens for about $150, but i'd love to have their new 18-200 VR lens which retails for $699. It would replace the lens I have now as well as work as a zoom.

That is tempting Scott. I thought the D50 took regular lenses as well? I can bring my Nikon so you can try some of the lenses I have just for practice.

That would be awesome. If they are autofocus, more than likely they will work.

Deb and I went up in the Fall when the leaves were turning. Went the scenic route, turned a 4 hr drive into a 10 hr drive but saw a lot of nice scenery. Went on the Dragon's tail, Deb didn't care for it. Came home by way of Cherokee, wished I could have stopped, they were having a car show there that Sunday.

Skip, which falls was that? Gorgeous and I know i will go next time.

Speaking of the dragon run i've been through it about 12 times now and my wife loves it as much as I. Heck one time, she had the 2way radio in one hand, video camera in teh other and was holding herself in place by biting the seatbelt. Yeah its fun

The reason it took us so long was we went site seeing. I wanted to go on the Dragon's Tail and also go on the Cherohala Skyway, we also came into Gatlinburg by way of the Foothills Pkwy. We took Hwy. 72 to I-24 into Chattanooga, then went Hwy 64 over to Hwy 68. We stop off Hwy 68 to get a drink and were talking to someone inside about the roads and he suggested we take Rd. 210 off Hwy 165 to Bald River Falls. Don't follow the road all the way, it dead ends. One of the reasons it took us so long. When the leaves are changing in the Fall the way we went, even though it took awhile, was well worth it.

The Cherohala is one of my favorite roads of all time. Its much faster than the dragon, but also more enjoyable. Last time we were there, it had rained the 2 days prior, so on our way up it, everything was fall colors, and then we rounded one curve and it all went white from the snow and ice that had been created by the rain and the wind hitting it. It was a gorgeous scene.

It was a great drive on the Tn. side. Once got into the upper elevations on the N.C. side it was pretty bare until we came down the back side. The Foothills Pkwy. was also a nice drive. I think it was about 12 miles long.

On another subject. What happened to the Bama Mafia site? Saw on Stangnet where Unclemeat was saying it had shut down but did not know why.
