Anyone watch Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip
The pilot aired last night on NBC. I watched and thought it was a really good show. I like the darker humor and Matthew Perry was cracking me up.
If you missed it, you can view the whole show online in seperate parts.

Yea Scott I saw it. I thought it was pretty good as well. I really think that Amanda Peet and Perry have good on screen chemistry. But I am a bit biased as I really like them in the Whole nine yards.
Oh yea it helps that she is seriously hot as well.

Yeah, I saw the whole thing off of an AOL link I think, then watched the show on TV too. I really like it. My girlfriend wasn't in to it as much, but then she fell asleep half way through it. I'll be watching every week, for sure. I never really got into West Wing, but this looks like my kind of show.
I watched it again on the NBC site.. I like how its pretty edgy and I think this will be a show that doesnt have the same theme week after week... I hope its a hit, and so far from what I am hearing it is. Plus with it being based around a show similar to SNL, they will always be bringing in other big name celebs as the show host (such as the chick from Desperate House Wives was on in the pilot), that just opens a whole endless list of possbilities.
Bump, few episodes into it... anyone else joined the fun?
Guess no interest, but Monday nights was part 1 of 2.... John Goodman is in these 2 episodes. The writing and comedy was great! It was edgy as far as teh topic covered.

Yeah, it's always interesting to see how the treat or portray towns you know of, like Pahrump in this show (and next). I love the show and make sure I watch it every week.
Im hooked on it. Im also praying 24 doesnt haveing a scheduling problem with it when it starts back in Jan.
Great show. Aaron Sorkin is the best writer in television. But alas; the show may be too smart, since it's ratings are not very good. Thankfully NBC just picked it up for a full season, but I have doubts about it continuing next fall. I sure hope it does. It's great.
Sadly, I think you are right. Last nights episode just showed how creative the writing is. I wasnt the least bit thinking that the reason Tom wouldnt explain why he was speeding or anything was because of his brother. Great show.
I just went through some of the ratings it got for the October Nielsen Sweeps. The numbers its pulling are not bottom of the barrel, but Hero's is doing significantly better. In alot of markets its doing fairly well for a monday night.
Sometimes it just takes a while for a show to find its audience. Sadly, the "big three" networks are notorious for pulling the plug prematurely if a show doesn't garner what they consider "stellar" ratings, which is often why quirkier shows get a better shot on cable networks like USA or SCI FI.
Battlestar Galactica is a great example of this. Ratings have fluctuated sharply over three seasons, but SCI FI sticks with it because it's widely acknowledged as the best show on television, and the audience is drawn to the unorthodox way it deals with complex and topical themes.

I love this show. But everytime the networks have a smart, witty show they never do very well and they pull the plug. Instead of letting people catch on to them. Like everything else in America the lowest common denominator wins.
The twist this show is taking is just amazing, especially for how well it all flows. The attitude and style of Danny and Matt's characters hit close to home for me, I think thats why I like the show so much.
****it... i havnt watched this in a few weeks, and was wondering why, and realized that my cable box has for no reason i can figure out decided that it no longer wants to record Studio 60... time to start downloading the past few episodes
Anyone watch the episode called "The Christmas Show"?
I saw this episode of Studio 60 on NBC and they had a stand in trumpet player in thier house band. Anyway the story ended up twisting into the show had a group of homeless musicians from New Orleans come in and do a song.. they performed "O Holy Night" and it was amazing. You can see a clip of it here: http://video.nbc.com/v/?linkId=48861
Turns out its a real thing and they were people that will benefit from this organization: http://www.tipitinasfoundation.org/
Just a cool thing that the show did something like that (and shows how amazing the writing is on this show).
From the studio 60 website, you can download an mp3 of the entire song they performed and its well worth it.
