Anyone here in Orlando

Tell me all about it.
We have not lived there since 1996, when we were making poor folk money and lived in Rosemont where the police helicopters flew nightly and I coudln't even afford to shop at publix.

Good Neighborhoods?
Car tag prices?
Vehicle inspections?
How great it will be to go to Universal at will?
The bad stuff?

I wanna hear it all.

I've in Tampa, but I've been to O-town many many many times (hundreds).
One thing's for sure, the traffic there is terrrible no matter what time of the day. Even on the weekends, the interstate is clogged like its rush hour.
Theres's so much expansion and population boom going on that it just gets worse and worse.
Even if they expand the roads, by the time they're done traffic is even more worse.
Then, you have all those toll roads......

the traffic isn't bad once you learn how to avoid i-4, a lot of lights are synchronized so if your going the speed limit you catch every light green.
but in a lot of the smaller metro cities (like edgwood and winterpark) the cops are real a-holes about speeding
once you learn your way around it's not so bad

I know my way around there well. We go down there all the time and I lived there for six months when my kids were babies. I know all about what a PITA I-4 is too.
And I know all about the Parliment house and North 0BT. Ew- I lived on North OBT when we were young and poor and didn't know better.

I just don't remember what everything costs.
I normally go down there, check into the Country inn or Wyndham and head off to Universal for a few days while Brian works.

I don't even know where to go about looking for a house- the boss lives in Windemere but I am not willing to pay 3 times the price for the same house I have now and am not even really happy in. I want a Good NORMAL neighborhood that isn't rednecky or snooty.

look in the Conway area, nice suburban area not far from downtown, although the houses are getting more expensive in the Boone High School District

WOW!
I will finally get to ride Kraken!

And the freaking beach is less than an hour from Orlando. Or two if I want the nice beach on the gulf side.

I sooooooo need to go down there and find somewhere to live!

Its nice to change up. I have had it with Alabama and its conservative crap. And I got a thing on my door yesterday that informed me I Was going to hell for not attending church. Only in Alabama

I hear since no one in Florida is from Florida, there will be no more no tooth hillbillies like my neighbors unless I venture into Bithlo also!

I am attending UCF right now and I laughed when I read the Bithlo comment. That's where Orlando Speedway is so if you want to race you have to put up with it a little. The traffic is horrible pretty much any time except around 9 at night. Also, the cops like mustangs. I've not been the most law abiding citizen but they always pull over the imports instead of me. Good luck with finding a house.

Yea, I once lived in Orlando for a second. I was told steer clear of Bithlo. That's where they have the redneck schoolbus races. Course I lived around the corner from the Parliment house on the OBT, so I had no room to talk.

Where is my freaking FOR SALE SIGN!!

My husband and I are too nomadic to be homesteaders. I wish we would have never bought. We like new places and new things. Turns out these new places and new things sucked goat *****(except for the giant pool).

I live in the cozy town of Lakeland...about 45 minutes to Orlando or Tampa. The night life is borning and consist of rolling peoples houses or going to Walmart. But Disney, Universal and Busch Gardens are only a little drive away.

Cholera Alabammy is an embarassment to anyone who lives here and is not married to a cousin Aunt or Uncle. I have been quite unhappy here since about a month after I moved in, but the longer I am here....If you witnessed the redneckery I witnessed at the gas station last night, I died a little inside!
Come on, my poor daughter, please no redneck accents for my kids, that is also embarassing, but quite unavoidable at redneck central high school.
Look Mama its a FLAh(Fly)...(Hon, I want you to say FLY 10 times fast to make it STOP!!)

REAL Target stores.(Not the crap super targets we have)
BASS PRO SHOPS(For my whupass peanut cravings)
GOOD WEATHER!

As if-been there done that ten years ago. So far, I am moving to Windemere. Or if Boone is a good district, there.

Lets play the cool or craphole game:

Yea,
Alabama has done it in for me. We are outta here.
Brian and I got a mass produced flyer thing on our door, apparently we are going to hell. Keep your opinion to yourself please!
Also no lotto, and the new Alabama tags are hideous- our cars would be embarassed to have them on them. Icing, my sons school is a TITLE 1 school now, Embarassing. EW!! I knew it was a nasty little hillbilly school(AFTER we bought the house), but come on!
I want the kids in Dr. Phillips or Olympia(NOT Title 1 schools!)schools with Palm trees out front! and I want to live in one of the condos near Universal Studios that have huge pools and gyms and no lawn maintenance! (mini fun fact, Dr Phillips borders Universal, so the kids can look out the window and wish they were there). I want to go to Margaritaville whenever the mood strikes, and I want to ride the Hulk till I am sick. I have also not been to the beach since 2004, and I like being 2 hours from one and 45 minutes from the other. I also want to learn the gator chomp and become a Rabid Tampa Bay fan!

We have to unload this house though we took it off the market through Christmas, it would tick me off for the grinch to come steal Christmas. I'd hate to have to hammerhack someone. Knowing how nomadic Brian and I am, we should have never bought. Anyone wanna send me a St. Joseph Statue?

We did live in Orlando once before, this time we are doing it proper. The only downside I see is no Brian at home anymore, he will be at a real office now.
