OMG!! I hate this show and I think John (the prospector) is such a jerk!

He goes trespassing looking for cars that are not even for sale. He acts like a good old cowboy with no car knowledge in front of the car owner, but then the commentary shows he has buyers from everywhere and he's quite savy. He seems to enjoy ripping the car owners offer!

If I ever see him in person I think I'd kick him in the shins! He trespass on my property, the cowboy wouldn't like the outcome!!

 

I think most if not all of it is staged

 

He's not the worst of them, I mean, I see he usually makes 3000-5000 per car as his commission. That's a lot better deal for the seller than some of the other guys in that business. On another show I saw a guy buy an original 1967 corvette 427-430 hp for 35k which he turned around to another dealer for about 50 grand a day later. Now that seller got screwed.

 

Nobody gets screwed that didn't screw them selves. They pay what they think that car is worth to them at that time. Just like the prospector get the car as cheap as he can and sell it for as much as he can. That's the nature of his business. I think we would all do the same.

 

Buy low, sell high. It's the American (Capitalist) way.
