All I can say is WoW! It is truly a night made in Heaven folks!

 

I've got mixed feelings about it. On one hand, I'm happy to see him win. But then, the conspiracy theorist in me kicks in.

He hasn't won a race in 2 years, hasn't even really been competitive.

Nascar attendance has fallen off so badly that you see entire sections of grandstands empty at races that are normally sold out (even with heavily discounted ticket prices).

They're trying everything to drum up business, from encouraging more bumping and hard driving, to going with fuel injection next year, to allowing Mustangs and Challengers to race.

Then, along comes 4th of July, and everyone knows that NASCAR and patriotism go hand in hand. What happens? The most popular driver in the sport comes out and drives the number and paint scheme car of his father who was just inducted in the hall of fame and is the greatest driver of the modern era, for the last time EVER. Oh, and at the track where his father was killed. What happens? He wins the race.

Wow, that couldn't have worked out any better for publicity if was scripted. Wait, maybe I just answered my own question.

 

I agree, the ending looked too scripted. Nobody even tried to pass Junior for the win, it was like Logano was happy to finish second. He didn't even try to pass Junior.

 

So NASCAR has turned into the new wrestling?

Actually since Earnhardt died , but since it's a Chevy show , I don't care anymore! 1. Gm is in trouble, and Earnhardt is dead ... in Nascar view, It has been widowed with no support coming in! That's too bad ... DON"T CARE! Life goes on! As far as I'm concerned, Nascar can die right along with Earnhardt and Chevy and the world will be a better place! 2. Nascar orchestrated its own death by backing 1 manufacturer and shoving the rest away too many years ago! Living proof that putting all your eggs into one basket doesn't work if someone steals the basket! 3. What's really stupid is that GM (Gov't Motors) actually let Nascar down by its many bad business decisions over the years and poor product . Now Nascar wants us to believe Chevy is this great car that wins every race on the weekend and is the best thing since sliced bread, yet the car is the same piece of junk it always was, makes it an insult to the intelect of the world! I don't know about you, but I want to see some legitimate racing on the weekend, not a 3 hour Chevy commercial! Then there's the Transformer movies .... DON'T GET ME STARTED !!! ...

Yeah, I would have !! I would have "Bumped and run" him just like his daddy did to so many other better drivers than him over the years if I could! What a wake-up call that would be! But I would love it to be a Ford that does it just to slap them down! NOW they can accuse a Ford of stinking up the show! And THAT would be doing it RIGHT!! Let's turn Nascar back into a reality show like it was in the 60s! Remember those old clips on the Wide World of Sports on any given Saturday afternoon?! That was REAL racing, not this "orchestrated" crap we see on Sunday!
