I do agree with you Overboost. Slight tweaks in some suspension and you're good to go. The ZL1 makes more power and torque than the Z28 and handles pretty **** well as is.

Well... We now know what car will be really collectable in the future, because for that price, they will not sell a lot of them.
That's Stingray money, with probably all the best options included.

@ Stage 3 - yeah the ZL1 is probably the best deal of the V8 cars in the Camaro lineup. Its a good deal period if your not a brand loyalist as its standard list of equipment is pretty comprehensive its only real deficient is a lack of about 90 horsepower.

IIRC Boomer called it right, this Chevy's Cobra R. Its a Camaro for bowtie nutswingers that have deep pockets.

Thank you.
Yeah,....I was actually thinking of what a Z28 would look like in the garage, but 75k?!?! I'd buy a Shelby instead.

If I got one of those Z28's, I would drive it very minimally. Definitely a money maker down the line.
I actually think it looks better than the previous years. Just personal preference. Just like I think the 2015 Mustang rear end looks hideous.

I totally agree Bob. I do like the ZL1, but the Roush won out.

I can't see them selling many, and not because of a limited production run or anything. 75k for a Camaro is way too **** much. Corvettes and GT500's can be had for much less than that.

That's exactly what it is. That's fine, but now you start pissing off Corvette owners because you're stepping on their toes. It'll be more beneficial to start with the C7 platform and build it for track use than to use the Camaro. Keep in mind, while it might be their R model, Ford didn't have to make the car fall in line with the rest of their product family.
True, I guess its Ford's blessing and its curse.
Ford can release cars like the Cobra R or the Boss LS and not worry about stepping on any other products toes.
The flip side of which people have come to naturally expect Mustang to fill the same shoes as the Camaro and Corvette.

Whoa, that's pretty steep, I'd think the $55-$65 range sounds more reasonable. How many is Chevy making (rarity factor)?
Personally, I'd be more interested in the next Camaro based off the ATS chassis presumably in the next year or two. Any decent rumors on this yet (size (presumably smaller and lighter), styling direction, tech specs), or still to far out on the horizon?

I do like those wheels tho.
But at least they could of offer the frosted/flat paint job with this one, at 75G's something special like that should be in the price.

It's the same for the Corvette, it is a tiered performance structure, like the Camaro, Mustang, Challenger etc.
The lower model cars pave the way and expenses for the higher priced cars.
If the Vette was a standalone supercar of ZR1 tier, they could charge and arm and a leg for it, and never have to worry about the Camaro.
Ford never had that with the Ford GT, it was on its own. It was also priced like it was on it's own.
So you either have it one way or the other. Even though the 2 cars completely separate segments.
I like that GM put out a track car that's street legal, but I feel bad it's priced so high. It'll be limited in numbers and not due to how many they'll produce like the Cobra R, but more the price.
I think what I said before was BOSS is a street car you can take to the track, the Z28 is a track car you can drive on the street.
But yeah, it's their CobraR ... with a bit more of the comfy stuff.
