Wrx Sti

I'm thinking of getting one. I have been thinking about it for a while now and when I saw the production pics the other day of the new one I started thinking about it even more. I just want some feedback on the car if anybody has got any. Pros and Cons?

Don't worry I am a die hard stang fan. I just want a good car as a daily driver. When I say "good car" I mean I want a top of the line impreza wrx sti

My only comment: The Mazdaspeed 3 is considered alot more bang for the buck by most reviewers.

To the WRX not the STi.

How about a slightly used one. I'm sure with the new design coming out the 06-07 STi's will be priced to sell.

I have a Impreza 2.5i and I really like it. The Subie's are dead on reliable and wonderful in the snow. The only downside to the turbo is the premium fuel but if you don't mind that go for it.

Just be careful, you may find yourself driving the STi more than you thought you would

Are you talking about new 2008 Sti or current one?

I agree the STI is way too expensive for a DD.
WRX is a nice winter car and the STI extra power is useless in the winter, i.e. it doesn't stop any faster in the snow.
I also think the 3 is more bang for the buck than a WRX.
I prefer a truck, like my Ranger.

I said Bang for the Buck, not competetiveness. Sure, the STi outruns the -3, but its price premium and praticality hit mean its just not the great deal the Mazda is. For a compact Daily Driver, the Mazdaspeed 3 really is the best deal going. If that extra performance is more important, by all means go for the Subie. But if being able to commute comfortably and still out-run most of the competition is the formula, its 3 all the way.

Sure the mazdaspeed 3 on paper would get the job done. But look how much better the STI looks than it. I don't want to drive a ****ty looking car around. the speed 3 is boring to me

Well styling's completely subjective. I think the new Subie looks like utter crap, while the -3's just plain HOT

but to each their own taste.

I also don't want to drive a car that is like everything else on the road. I see to many mazda 3's on the road.

I think the 08 impreza compared to the current one is way hotter looking. I personally love how it looks. but like it says above "to each their own taste"

has anybody ever driven the sti though? is it as good as they say it is?

i've been in an evo, it was awesome.
i'm guessing the sti is similar, but sounds better.
the boxer engines get nice and deep.
the Sti is a good car, if you want one than it's worth it.

Nope. I did drive a WRX and it was quicker than my 99 GT, so I can only imagine what the STi feels like
