Chevy Nova comes to mind. Doesn't No va' mean "no go" in Spanish?

How about the Isuzu Vehicross. Talk about dumb and ugly... (and no, I'm not talking about Rosie Odonnell)

Merkur was the German word for Mercury, pronouced "mare-coor". It's hardly the ugliest car ever. I have seen much worse. One of the main reasons it was not continued was because passive restraints or airbags were going to be mandated on all US cars, but was not a requirement on European models. The car may not be as interesting now as it was then, but it inspired a whole generation of successful Fords with it's aero look, plus the XR4Ti's 2.3 liter turbo engine was the same exact one found in the Mustang SVO and Thunderbird Turbo Coupe.

I agree, Yugo wins, because it's an awful car.

However, for the actual NAME of the car... I pick Peugeot. Looks like a scrabble tile set: PEUGEOT

/well aware it's a family name... still.
