it takes more than asinine comments to hurt my feelings.

I posted my opinion, nothing more. That it bothers you & several others indicates it hit too close to home.............deal with it.

There are several mods that don't cost a lot, can be done by the average owner, & may even add to the hp & performance.............Be honest with yourself, you went for the exhaust system " for the noise " factor.
didn't think most race cars had exhausts...

Race cars have exhausts, they're called headers.....top fuel too..
and actually, my bassani exhaust right now is equivalent to the sound of no exhaust. so in retrospect, the stock muffler really just tones down the natural sound, so my after market exhaust is just staying true.

That " natural sound " might exceed the accepted noise levels in N.J. As written, there is no db level to exceed, it's up to the LEO to decide if it's loud.

Its not necessarily about decibels. A lot of people want a different tone vs the factory nasal sounding axle backs. And most complain that the factory exhaust is just a tad too quiet to hear their muscle car - hence the sound tube staring in '10.
I don't want a super loud exhaust - which is why I never changed to the GT500 KR's (Plus the ridiculous $600 price for the M-5230-S). But the Bullitt factory exhaust is a tad quiet. However, the tone is PERFECT so I'm not screwin' with it.
But each their own. Wanting a better tone has nothing to do with a V6 owner wanting to pose as a V8 owner.

The op was annoyed by someone putting Hemi tags on a 6er. Loud exhaust on a " non race " car strike me the same way.....the " look @ me factor " without the goods to carry it off.

Am I going to complain about boob implants that compliment a woman's shape and form? Probably not. So why am I going to give a rats worrying about something that someone else does to their car in attempt to project an image? I figure if a kid can drive a riced out Hondud with a fart can on the back that I believe is goofy lookin', let V6 owners get away with fictitious badging and running dual exhaust. And yes, I have cats punched with Flowmaster 40 Series' because of the obnoxiously raspy sound, am I forsaken from Mustang circles over it? Most likely not.

I was talking with a guy about his newer shelby and he was going on and on about it was 3 of 3 because of the color of the stripes and the heated seat option and how very few had this and that. I told him he should talk about the good points of the car and skip the ***** option combo speach because it doesnt impress people to hear about heated seats and stripe combos. real life isnt like the ************ that is barrett jackson.

all the exhaust is doing is letting you hear the real sound of the motor.. The stock grandma approved sound is the lie.

And i have been honest... i like the sound it makes, never said i didn't. but it still doesn't mean i'm trying to pass it off as a V8. i'll wear my V6 badge proudly. i don't judge other people for what their preferences or choices are. you think the way you think and that's fine. not trying to change your " opinion "

Haha I have Flowmaster axelbacks and cams. I got my car and have done what I've done to it solely because it's what I like. Couldn't care less about what anyone else thinks. I don't think many people put an exhaust on their car so that people think it has more power than it does. But it's ok, some people like for their 700hp GT500 to sound like a Prius. Lol

The only thing that may resemble a GT on my car is the dual exhaust look & GT style bumper. Nowhere on my car will you find any fake badges, I used to have a cobra trunk emblem but I come to realize that it was degrading to the cobras plus it was dumb on a v6 so I took it off!

You'll always run into people thinking that rebadging a car into what it's not is awesome. Like a Fobra. It's annoying really, unless they do the full swap and turn it into the car they are desperately wanting to be. Even then is still not a factory Cobra and shouldn't sport the badging. That's like putting snake emblems on my little V6 for added hp.
