Mine was something like this... a 1998 Mitsubishi Galant. (owned 2001-2004)

It was trade bait for the 05 Mustang that I bought 3 years later.

Here's me and my dad working on it in '78 getting it ready for paint after installing the '60 Falcon front sheetmetal:

My first one was a 1988 Mercury Topaz XR5. Black with a Titanium Grey lower body.
The car produced a "whopping"110 horsepower out of a 2.3 liter engine that Ford classified as their "High Swirl Combustion" engine. Keep in mind that non XR5 models produced an absurdly low 92 horsepower. Thank goodness mine had manual gearbox, or else it wouldn't have gotten out if its own way........
Overall though it was a fairly attractive car that looked more expensive than it was for its time. $12,000 or so loaded from what I recall.
Fords interior packaging was really strange at that time. You could only get power windows if you bought a 4door Topaz, but otherwise, you got a leather steering wheel, but a rubber shift ****, you got a power drivers seat with power lumbar,on the passenger seat as well, power mirrors and locks, cruise control and a tilt wheel, but like I said earlier.....No Power Windows !!
Think about that ! All the other power equipment, but no windows ! Didn't and still doesn't make any sense.........
The only thing I added to the car was Marchal Fog Lights( remember those ?)to the car. At the time, it made a huge appearance improvement to the front of the car, which made it at least look more serious than it really was.
Thanks for reading and here is the best pic I could find on the web.--------Bill

I bought my first car in 1967. It was bronze, but it looked like this: http://carpictures.us/1959-jaguar-xk...rophead-coupe/
Used Jags were cheap then and I was working while I went to school.

1973 Mercury Capri 2.6 V6, casically a 3/4 scale Euro Mustang - a nice car actually and a lot better than the domestic Mustang II, IMO.
Imagine this, but in silver:

My first car was a 1986 Nissan 720 Pickup, 2wd. My parents bought it new in '86 and then after they split up it just sat around because my mom didn't like to drive it with no power steering or anything.
So I got it with 75,xxx miles on it. It's got 102,xxx now and has never let me down once. I love that little truck really, even though it's such a different experience to drive than my Mustang.
I tinted the windows and lowered it 3 inches. It has snow tires on the back in this pic... Unfortunately the paint is nowhere near as nice in person as this picture makes it look. 27 years has been hard on her, and she really needs a repaint.

First car was a 2004 Nissan Sentra SE-R SpecV with 87,000 miles that I bought from my dad. 2.5L 4 with 175 HP and a six speed. That was a fun little car. We both miss that car sometimes.
Second car and first new car was the Mustang.
The last two pictures were the same day; March 1, 2008

Both were very reliable and each lasted him for over 200,000 miles without any major problems.
