I hear everywhere that the tips are not connected to any pipes whatsoever. So whats the deal? How does the exhaust exit the car?

 

I think the exhaust goes up to them, but the tips just made to look cool. Like the Lexus LS.

Personally, I think the LS's look good, but the IS-F's look like straigt garbage.

that whole car looks a little goofy, I like the base IS, but the IS-F's body styling just looks odd

 

I was up at the U.S Open Tennis tourney last August, and Lexus is the major auto sponsor. They had the IS-F there for anyone to sit in. Nice inside, but the one thing that iritated me to no end...the exhaust ISN'T a true dual setup. I acutally looked under the car to see! It has the y-pipe from the exhaust manifold, going into 1 long pipe to the rear of the car, where it splits to the 2 mufflers out the back! A 5.0L 400+ hp sedan, for $60K, and it doesn't have true dual exhaust?! What a crock of ****!!!

 

Fake, just for looks, like a Mustang's hood scoop.
