Everyone is freaking out about the 05 BMW M5, because of it's 500HP, and 369TQ. Everyone thinks that is a lot of power!! Lincoln really needs to quickly redesign the LS, and then make a Lincoln LSE V-10 Sport!

600HP, 500TQ, it would punish the M5!!! It would destroy it! And sell like crazy. That would be so hot...

 

You can't sell like crazy when something like that would be limited production and incredibly expensive.

 

Sorry but 500hp is a lot of power.

And I highly doubt a lincoln LS is ever going to catch up to the M5.

I wasn't saying it wasn't..I no it sounded like that... I meant, in comparison to a 600HP, LS, it would seem small. Maybe not small, just quite a bit slower.

And you're right they probably won't make a V-10 LS.

You sure thats not the new STS? They look amost the same in pics but the STS is just bigger in person(of course!)

Why do you need that much power in family sedan? It just doesn't make any sense. Its not like you're gonna go on the track and race with that.

Plus, M5 cost almost twice more than LS.

Keep the LS the way it is, cause its a great car. Lincoln is probably best American car, and they don't need to follow what BMW or anyone else is doing.

I agree.. but at the same time, the CTSV and M5 are used more as image cars... it is more about getting positive press, etc.

I think the LS needs to be a bit sportier, with a bit more power.

 

Take the LSE model and slap an Eaton supercharger on it and I'd be happy. I sell these things and to me $47K for a loaded LS with only 280HP is ridiculous.

 

Well the only problem then is you start bumping into Jaguar territory, which is also Ford owned, and Im not sure they want to step on those toes yet, but having a slightly undertuned version of that 4.2s/c jag motor would be nice for the LS!

 

I think the key is to use a different engine other than the 4.2L from Jag. I think Lincoln should offer the same level of power that a Jag does but in a different way. Maybe by using a hipo 5.4l or a hipo 4.6l mod motors. If they were to use the Jag 4.2l motor, then it would be nothing more than a Lincoln Jag, see what I'm getting at?

 

Most people buying Jags and Lincolns don't care much about performance. Luxury is number 1 for both companies. That's like saying nobody will buy the VW Phaeton because it's nothing more than an Audi VW. It's all about style and personal tastes.

 

I'd get a VW over an Audi, the VWs are so much nicer on the inside...

As for an LS that would blow the socks off a Beemer would rock, even if it is just a limited production...

Maybe some SVT Lincolns...
