I don't want an American-ized version! I want the real deal!

But thanks Tony for the link/info.

I'm with Jason. I want the U.K version. Do you REALLY think that they will test all those amazing supercars that aren't really for sale here, like the Pagani, Koenigsegg, and MC12. They will do tests on normal U.S cars, which, if I want to see that, I'll just turn on PBS, and watch the boring Motorweek (though I do like John Davis as host). I like Top Gear for what it is now, a funny, smart-alexy, show that tests the most amazing cars in the world, and does fantasy competitions like the Bugatti vs the plane, and the Aston vs. the train. There would be no way to do those things here, as the speed limits would quash it in a minute. Thank goodness for finalgear.com, so I can get my fix of Clarkson, Hammond, and May. Just wish I got BBC U.K on normal cable.

Although I would probably watch the american version, the real Top Gear will most likely be better. I like the humour in the UK version which wouldn't quite be the same with an american version and I don't think they'll get the cool cars for the reasons already posted.

I'll be interested to see what comes out of this.

Yeah, I like the different perspective Top Gear brings that helps flesh out a broader understanding and appreciation of all sorts of performance cars.

My fear is that an American version would lose that and just contribute to an already fairly extant automotive insularity Stateside that at times approaches xenophobia. But if they could cultivate a similar broad-minded irreverence as the British version, with the same high quality videography and production...

Can anyone say coupling, red dwarf, and hitchhiker guide to the galaxy
What do all these have in common you ask? well They are all shows that originated in the UK and got Remade by americans and guess what..the remakes all suck!

I am so bloody tired of this crap. This show will suck and there is no getting around it.

And i can garantee it will not have the production value that the real Top Gear has.

Just bring the origianl over here and all will be well.
None of this sanitised for americans crap.

Yup looks like I'll still be torrenting the originals.

Long live Jezza, Cpt Slow, and Hamster!
Oh and the stig is the least importan person to bring over in regard to the show. Just get any awesome driver and stick him in a suit.

man this makes me angry as heck!

I agree with Doug...it is going to be total crap.

Torrents are the only way to go.
