Nice trailer hitch. Typical GM marketing ploy, every V8 is an SS or Z28. GM will throw an SS emblem on a toaster.

I rest my case.

I'll admit, it does have some nice styling, and does come stock with some nice features, but not sure how a car that costs roughly 20% more than a Mustang has more Bang for the Buck in EVERY category. Sure it has more hp, and it has a 6 speed instead of a 5, but every category? That might be hard to prove.

I'm sure you can sell your vert and cross over to the dark side.

But, this is a Mustang forum, so expect some 'negative comments' from people who actually like their car.

Engine specs look good.
Back end looks just plain ugly...like a tacked on from an old Vette.
I was hoping for something that looked more like the '68 tail.
Good thing your lease isn't up for awhile.
It will be another year before these things hit the road.

There are numerous threads regarding the Camaro in the 'General Car Chat' section. Which is where I am moving this thread, but I will leave a link for a couple days.

Sorry, that doesn't do anything for me. For the original poster, how much would a SS Vert run with loaded with options as you would like it compared to the price of your GT/CS?

To each his own but I think that the photographer's comment "..I thought it was a Challenger..." is pretty telling. This car does not look enough like a Camaro.

welp since I'm a "car" enthusiast I'll give GM props for having the guts to make that interior!
although i must admit something was lost in the translation of the exterior from concept to production

Previously, when it came to sports cars, I was always a GM guy (yeah, I know )....that was, until I saw the S197 Mustang. Like some of the others said about the new Camaro, I'm just not feeling it either. Yeah the specs look great but I still can't get past the body style. Maybe it will grow on me in time, but for now JMO

I just looked around the net and couldn't find any comments about an official pricing release on any of the 5th gen Camaro or GM sites I went to. I also couldn't find one on GM's own website, and a Google search didn't turn up anything either?

I guess GM made a typo then, I thought that the LS9 was a 6.2, not a 6.0? And didn't Lutz already say that the base V6 was the 3.6?

I agree. Those specs (if true) are nice, but the Camaro, by and large, is just fugly. I didn't like the concept and I don't like what's apparently going to be the production model.

I think I would at least wait and see what the 2010+ Mustang offers. Unless Ford royally screws up the redesign, I think we'll have a better looking car with comparable (if not better) specs.

not only is it fugly...the concept design is already 3 yrs old..how long do you think the production design will run if it doesn't flop (IMHO I think it will)

Besides, I would NEVER think of selling my stang for a Brand X product...

You can bet the first Camaros out will be loaded up V-6s with outrageous dealer markups. Then very few Loaded up SSs and finally very few Loaded up with options Z-28s with Dealer markups also very limited. You better have 40k ready for a V-6. Sorry but I ain't holding my breath. I saw what they did with the GTO with dealer markups and that car was ugly as heck. Chevy can't do what Mustang is doing with anything but the V-6 listed above. having said this I still hope Chevy does attempt to mass produce this car so everyone can get their hands on one for MSRP soon. It would be great to see the muscle car wars of the late 60's again from the big 3!

Where are these prices from? If its in that thread, link to the exact post

Those prices sound too good to be true if you ask me, especially considering the Camaro won't be out for a few more years

lets compare more of apples to apples, match one of the SS's or Z28's with the 500 hp Cobra, MSRP of $45k but selling for $55k+. Do not try to compare one of those to a GT/CS or a GT with a 4.6l.
