I'd rather drive a Raptor with a bad brake booster than a Tundra with a Cylon front end.

I think I read somewhere that Fiesta, Focus and F-150 are in the Top 5 of best selling cars in the world in 2012 (the other two are Toyota Corolla and Volkswagen Golf).

Fiesta and Focus are on sale pretty much everywhere in the world where Ford sells their vehicles, so that doesn't surprise me, but it's pretty impressive that the F-Series is on the list considering the fact that its on sale in the North America only.

I agree. The F150's sales statistics are staggering when, like you said, it's offered only in North America.

Watching that video, it's weird ... why didn't driver put transmission in neutral and turn the engine off? I had brakes failure on my F-150 few years ago (during 75 mph on the highway) and that's what I did - the truck stopped pretty soon and I avoided the accident.
Maybe I should go update Wikipedia?

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that from 2000 to mid-May it had received more than 6,200 complaints involving sudden acceleration in Toyota vehicles.
From May 2010-

However, the deal does not cover wrongful death or injury lawsuits, which according to a June Toyota filing totaled more than 300.

From Dec 2012- Pretty good article.

Not sure - the person in that video was Mark Saylor - a Cali HWY Patrol Officer. Sometimes in the heat of things, and it can be that scary, common sense may not seem so common. His family settled out of court for $10 million.

Not saying they're still "fluke" numbers - but for a company that practices lean manufacturing and six sigma (constant strive for one error in every million chances). They sold something like 16 million cars from 2000 - 2010. That's a failure to have 300 serious claims. So I don't see the conspiracy.

They're poised for a solid 2013, no doubt. Toyota is Teflon. It's like anything else tho, with the passing of time - people get more and more comfortable, and Toyota had the constant magnifying glass on them, so I'm sure they're churning out solid product. Be that as it may, just wont be a lineup I'm interested in.

I'm just saying that it was very interesting that the government started finding faults in all these popular foreign manufacturers about the same time when the domestic Big 3 were going through so many problems.

Maybe I'm completely right, maybe I'm completely wrong about it ... I'm a Serb, we see a conspiracy in everything.

By the way, speaking of government and forces recalls ... why isn't government forcing Ford to recall Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis and Town Car for faulty fuel tanks?

Well Merry Christmas! Hope you got the coin!

Probably media - and just the fact those crown vics pop out at random intervals. 30 in the past 30 years - rather than a focused 20-30 over the course of a summer

http://www.autoblog.com/2012/09/17/n...cars-over-ste/

Ferrari recalled their 458 and Cali's for engine fire. Ford recalled their 2013 Escapes for same thing. Previously recalled their 91-01 Explorer which saw 200+ deaths (tire issue). I guess it's how much it's in line of sight, I had no idea on the crown vics...
