Amusing video which you can watch RIGHT NOW in Google. Gives you a good sense of how our "sports" cars are viewed by the rest of the world...

That seemed a fairly accurate assessment of the Corvette, especially considering who was doing the evaluation. The key to understanding the Corvette is to look at the performance for the buck and here the Corvette is a hands down winner. Whos cares about medieval suspension goodies. They admitted that they work. That's enough for me.

Eh, I'm not sure if I buy the results of their little "drag race."
Funny they complain so much bout the vette's suspension, I wonder what theyd think about the stangs SRA eh?

However all thier points about the stang (plastic dash, power to weight..etc) are all valid. But they came out saying they loved the car becasue it had that extra something.. that X factor as Jeremy called it. The car just grabs ya.
The Key to reading top gears reviews it to hack out all the opinions and just listen to the essence of what they are saying..and most times they are dead on. The rest is just for entertainment.
As for the drag race..well TVRs are brutal in a straight line but in the turns..well Jeremy said it best. "It's like haveing a pet bear. It's all fun till it rips your head off, and it WILL rip your head off."
BTW here is the Top Gear Mustang vid

Yeah, you're right. They clearly forgot about that 5% of the world's population that get off on cheap plastics and leaf springs.

Now the Shelby GT500, it really looks like a very solid interior. Too bad it doesn't have the Castano leather like the King Ranches... God that leather is just ssoooo buttery soft and comfortable.

Just like the 3link SRA on the 05 Mustangs... it works... and well...

Well that leaf spring suspension doesn't contribute to much to unsprung weight since most of the weight of the spring is inboard of the wheels (I guess they are still composite monoleaf springs). I cant remeber the real down side to using that design, but I beleive it had to do with being unable to uncouple froces from side to side (probably barking up the wrong three there???)
As soon as I saw the cars in that drag race, and a TVR was one of the cars, I knew the Corvette was done for. TVR's have one of the best and strongest motors made. The suprising thing was that the NSX with only 295 hp came in second, and beat the vette.

I've never seen the interior of a Z06 up close and personal. Are they really cheap?

Again, I believe it's the usual snobby brit bashing of American cars...
Was that really what they consider a drag race? Someone should slap that guy driving the Corvette for getting his butt handed to him by an NSX. The TVR is much more car than the corvette, however for what they cost, and for what a TVR is, run it against a Z06 and then check the results.

I sat in one at the Boston Auto Show and IMO it doesn't look cheap at all.

No sense blaming the Brits for OUR shortcomings; it is what it is.

the fact is it "feels" cheap and "is" cheap plastic.
ON a car that is corvette money in europe you get a leather dash and aluminum fittings..or real wood..not just a sticker
When they reviewed the escalade they couldn't beleive a "luxury" vehicle would have a plastic top on the dash like it does. The leather is garbage as well.
Brit interiors outclass american ones hands down anyday of the week.
