Top Gear on the DBS
Welp Jeremy drove it and the offical word is..it's not as good as a DB9
It's a lot more expensive and he thinks it's just a little less pretty and it is slower than the Vanquish S
He does love it but he'd rather have a DB9
He says think of it as a DB9S
it's a bit better all around but the price hurts
It is as fast as a Zonda around the TG test track though

Actually, he says that it's like a DB9 with lots of little things improved to make it better. If it were only $20K more than a normal DB9, he'd be in rapture. But the price tag's a bit insane, so the DB9's better for the output.
I look at it this way: looks and drives like an Aston, probably the best GT out there, and it'll run with a Zonda. If I had the money, mine would be on order.

I'm not sure Clarkson would rather have the DB9. When the stig is driving it he says, "In every way this is better than the DB9" He also says that you can't buy a DB9 anymore because eventually someone would pull up next to you in a DBS and you'd have to kill yourself.
I still haven't decided which car I think looks better. When the DBS was first shown I thought it was a bit busy. After seeing it more I think I'm starting to like it more. Especially the black one the stig drove.

I think the color makes a huge difference. In lighter colors, the new bits draw too much attention to themselves. But in darker colors, they don't stand out as much and do a better job of making the DBS distinct without effing it up.
I too think the added decorations reek a bit of boy-racer add ons -- usually not a good sign when people say a car looks better in dark colors to hide those very add ons -- but seems like the rest of the enhancements are all for the better, perhaps if they would incorporate them into the regular DB9 without all the "special edition" markup.
