Tire question?

I ran across the chance to get a set of four Michelin pilot sport A5 plus 245/45 zr17 tires w/ about 80-85% tread left for $240. Guy said he would be a sweet heart and even mount and balance them. :-) lol. The guy is half owner with his dad at this Beemer and Benz repair shop. He said he ended up with them from a guy that wanted some winter tires and he traded him out. So what do you guys think? This a good deal? Does anyone have any experience with running them on your stang? I'm running them on a 03 gt vert totally stock , except my totally kick list of extensive mods that consist of one- kick *** 8' inch shorty antenna, and that's it. Lol jk ( it's a work in progress ) .

Any help would be great thanks guys.

Are the tires worn pretty evenly across? Check them out real good to see if there is any damage in the tread and sidewall area of the tires and inspect the interior. If it all looks good then you should be in good shape. The PS AS+ has 6yr 45k warranty when new and comes with a 10/32 tread depth IIRC. I ran them on my 02 GT when I needed to travel around the east coast. I also had a set put on my folks 07 GT and they made regular trips to northeastern Pennsylvania in bad weather with no problems.

If your running a summer tire now, you'll notice a degredation in performance, if your running an all-season tire from just about anybody else you should notice an improvement in about every area.

Well I ended up buying them. I used the depth gauge and I don't even think there is 5k miles on them. I did notice a slight performance decrease as I was running the firehawk wide oval gt's. But I'm going to be traveling a lot more and it was a great deal. Thanks for the input guys
