no such thing, turds cant be polished, it gets messy lol i personally dont care for them, but to each is their own...doesnt mean i dont like sayin it looks like a catfish lol...i guess maybe if it performs well...then i might look a lil past the looks...might lol have a nice day folks
btw i went to the tundra min-site, and most the things they show ive done with a car, i treat me 10 year old truck the same way and its still kickin...i dunno, i guess im just not really impressed by their product...o well..no biggie

true but performance on paper is different then real world use, and IMO that is where Toyota trucks show their manufacturers inexperience in making trucks, I had a Toyota truck and trust me I don't miss it.

and besides i have to disagree toyota has been making trucks for a fairly long time. and remember that america is the only country that uses "full size" trucks. Don't forget that the people who are building them are also the people that drive them the most... texans. the rest of the worlds pickups are ranger sized. and toyota is spot on in the construction of those.
the new tundra is a darn decent truck, but out of my market for two reasons, i'll never own a fuill size truck becasue i think they are rediculous and unnecassary for 95% of people who drive them, besides they are a pita to park and what not. reason number two.... no stick shift. i'll try my darndest to never own an auto trans.

Cheese I can't agree with you on the mid sized trucks at all, we had an 03 Tacoma double cab 4X4 and that truck could not dig it's self out of a sand box with only one wheel in. Honestly I drove that Truck for over 20 thousand miles and found it to be a joke compared to one of my friends 99 Ranger which out performed my truck off road easily.
My mother drove it for another 20K and she agreed with my complaints. The Tacomas on paper should be strong enough but when you actually drive them they are weak, not enough of a power range through the RPMs. From a dead stop it's there but when your already going and you need that extra power to get out of the way or dig out of snow the engine sounds like it's doing something but your just not going anywhere.
Honestly the only thing that was strong on my 03 Tacoma was the breaks. I work with a woman who only buys imports and she bought a 06 Tacoma last year and every time I talk to her about it she complains how lousy of a truck it is, she says all the same stuff: not enough power, poor handling, lousy off road performance, and to top it all off poor gas mileage (14 MPG). Now I know no one buys a truck for fuel efficiency but my feeling is if your going to get bad gas mileage you should at least have the power to justify it. That has been my experience with Toyota's trucks and I will never buy another.

That's correct. For instance, when Popular Mechanics did a recent truck comparison, the Tundra had the best 60-0 stopping distance without a load (139.85'). The F150 did it in 143.09'. However, the F150 had the best stopping distance with a load (123.46'). For comparison, the Titan did it in 144.3, the Silverado in 152.14, and the Dodge in 172.04 (ouch!). Considering that trucks are work vehicles and are used to haul or tow heavy loads, the F150 has better "real world" numbers than the Tundra.

I still don't get how they graded them. For example, Titan's gotta have it was 16/25, but Ford's was 10/25.
I think sales pretty much prove "gotta have it factor".

Newest issue of Car and Driver had same comparison. Silverado won, Titan was 2nd, Tundra 3rd, Ram 4th and F-150 dead last.

but in the end FORD still builds the best trucks out there, sales prove that in the least. Since i have been alive my father has only ever had a ford truck in the family

well your the first person i have ever talked to that has not been in absolute love with that truck. So i dont know why your having these problems. Your power issue could have come from the fact that you had the heaviest version of the truck that was for sale, which will also give you the reason for your poor gas mileage. Also your issue with the snow moving could have been because of the automatic transmission. they shift whenever they feel like it and usually refuse to go back to first. One more reason i dont trust auto's. I have a very good friend who is a toyota tech and i just have never heard any issues like that. So although your points are noted, i just dont personally believe in them. would I buy a tacoma.. yes a short cab short bed 98-2000 five speed. or an x-runner
thanks for this info. the tundra was a loaded stopping distance of 141 and change feet. But still in all these tests i think it would come down to who likes what brand, and i think toyota is going to sway a lot of people over. That truck in the first post is beautiful compared to anything else mentioned here. If there were a manual trans offered i would consider it in about 10 years. 42K for a truck is ludicris, i'll take a ranger 4cyl 4x2 five speed, and get a subaru to get around in bad weather.
