steering problem after wreck
#1
The steering wheel turns a few milimiters before the wheels start to turn. It feels as though there is a gap between the weels and the steering wheel. So the steering wheel moves a bit, and it's really light then, and then it hits something and the wheels start to move and the steering wheel gets heavy.

I would take the car back to the shop that did it.
If you took the car to a shop that your insurance company guarantees the work, you should be ok.
Otherwise, take it to a good alignment shop, get them to diagnose the problem and try and get the insurance company to cover it.
If you noticed this just after the accident repair a good insurance company should cover it.
