dont have any sympathy for the kid, complete moron, but I do for his passengers, although they were dumb enough to ride with him. This is more reason 16 y/o's should not have fast cars, just parents being stupid, I'm sure his need for showing off didnt show up the night he died, someone like that should start with a pacer
Big story down here, long time ago. Keg Party, Private Air Strip, 5 Drunk Teens. Only a Tragedy could have resulted. Sorry for the "coldness", but SOP in that particular Exclusive Gated Neighborhood.
As a fellow young person I have no sympathy for the kid
, just his family and the family of the other's. May this be an example to the young drivers in this forum of the importance of safe driving and that high hp+young age dont mix.

Yup.
The only life at risk was my own. And being an adult I knowingly took the risk, no different than if I was on a track... except for the legalities. So legally, no not OK, but just as responsible as being on a track. I'm telling you, there was nobody out, not even oncoming traffic.

It wasn't yourself I was thinking of, but your family? How they would react to the news if something happened? Sorry for playing it that way, but having had a near-death experience already in my life, you wonder how your family would take to the news in case something were to happen to ones self. Plus at that time of night, what would have happened if an animal crossed the road, since it was dark?
As far as the kid in the Bimmer - I actually give him credit for doing this on a runway and not on the streets racing a Civic, etc, where he could cross an intersection and kill an entire family as well as his occupants.
I've done my share of dumb things, I just don't try to make a habit of it.

'Cept that he forgot to leave the passengers behind.
I am willing to bet that he has done this sort of thing on the streets. He just ended up getting killed at an airport instead.
Agree, but to some extent they're likeley responsible for getting in the car in the first place.

But that was alone, on an empty interstate at about 2:30am.
