If early orders are an indication, Pontiac could have a winner in its Solstice roadster. GM quickly booked 1,000 orders for the two-seat convertible this month during a TV promotion. But now GM says it won't ship a significant number of Solstices to dealerships until this fall - well past its summer target date meant to coincide with the peak of the convertible selling season.
GM has zero luck!!!!

That's what happens when a car is rushed into production.
At least they are working hard to get the bugs out instead of releasing a recall-prone junker.
Unfortunatley this deflates all the positive buzz that the car was creating

The thing I don't understand is they are marketing the Saturn Sky as a more upscale version of the Solstice, that seems backwards to me, I had always thought that Pontiac sat higher on the GM chain than Saturn does. I always thought of the Pontiac division as the equivalent as the Mercury division is to Ford, but anyway.

I think what you're seeing is the ascension of Saturn in the GM hierarchy while Ponitiac (and Buick) drop to the bottom. I believe the rumors of Pontiac or Buick (or both) being on the chopping block are more than just rumors.

And most people probably will. This is just another case of bad decision making by GM.
