Hey all, I’m not a current owner of a Mustang but I am looking to get back in the saddle…I came across this Mustang while browsing (see image) and was curious if anyone knew the significance of this oddly placed single black stripe…any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,Matt
What are the hash stripes on a fender? In the old days of racing, The hash marks indicated which side of the car the steering was located. They did this because racers who drive on both sides of the pond, often got into the wrong side of the car during Lemans.
What do the stripes on car fenders mean? Back in the day they were called "rookie stripes", and were required by some sanctioning bodies to identify road racing track cars that had less-experienced drivers in them. This was so that the experienced drivers knew who to watch out for
Thanks for responding….I have certainly seen many different stripes and I like the look of many of them and I was somewhat familiar most stripes and their purpose, I just never saw one like this…this one just doesn’t look good at all … I assume these are just decals and can be removed?
