They're making a V8 solstice in a year or two, not the wimpy miata-like 177hp V4 it has now

nope sorry
the solstice is getting a supercharged 4 in about a year and a half, bump power from 177 to about 220 maybe, should make a huge difference though
i've driven one, not bad, it revs high, so you feel like you're going faster
it's an amazing car for the price
the kappa platform was built for a 4, but lutz himself said that a V8 will fit, doesn't mean in a million years that a production solstice will sport an 8, but there are already aftermarket companies that are planning to make a missile out of it (mallet for one I believe)

Oh, so that's what you call them, Clients.

HA!
if you knew who my client was, you guys would shame me...
but ya, let's not turn this into the HotFormulaChick fiasco from LS1.com a few years back - now THAT was a scandal....she really did have "clients"

I have had the opportunity to test drive pontiac solstice at the GM autoshow in motion, and I do have to say it is a pretty impressive car for its price. It is kind of hard to get in, but once your in, it is a nice and tight cockpit. Very comfortable. No back seat of course, and the trunkspace was pretty decent. It drives nice, you do feel every bump in the road, but it is a sport suspension. They only come in manual I believe, and the clutch feels a bit cheap. Very loose feeling, kind of like your not pushing down on anything when you hit the clutch. Like I said though, it was fun to drive, could see myself zipping in and out of traffic. I think it is good for the price they are offering for it.

K,
You know this is all in fun. You must have something to do with GM though.

I like the Solstice a lot...it's a great looking Miata fighter. You've gotta give GM their due on this one. The styling is darn near perfect. But it sounds like Mazda upped the ante and the new Miata is a slightly better car. But if it were between the two I'd go with the Solstice on looks alone!

Wow the ignorance in here is appauling. Just beacause you don't like GM, doesn't mean you have to start making poo up.
The Solstice is not a V4, it's a 2.4L I4.
Mallet, an aftermarket company is making 150 solstices with implanted LS2's, those cars will wipe the floor with ours.
There will be a GXP version that is Turbocharged to about 240 hp, not supercharged. The Opel version of the solstice already has a Turboed version.

Geez k, your easy to find all over the internet. I'm just looking around on the Saturn Sky's forum site and looky what I find.
What do you do for a living?
SO i figured I'd start off the off-topic forum
Not trying to snoop into anyone's lives, just wondered if we could get to know each other better!
I'll start: I work for an Advertising Agency on an automotive account...I love my job and what I do and was lucky to start at it straight from school (well, almost straight). It does however pose a dilemma with the enthusiast in me sometimes.
Anyone else? Bueller?

yep, since i use the same name everywhere it's easy i guess - i post in way more places then just kappaforums (haven't been there in a while - my sig still shows my old car)!
that was fun back then when they first started that forum - like 20 people were on it.
so now that you seem to know everything about me, why don't you expose yourself a little (not physically please)...

i'm pretty sure i also heard something about a v8 being crammed into the solstice, like in Motor Trend or something... but these things are always being tossed around. I also prefer the saturn roadster, the nose on the solstice just ain't right. I mean, it's not just cause its un concervative, i'm down with weird stuff, but this one just doesn't work for me.
