Is there a website that just shows ugly ricers? I'd love to see a site that compiles user submitted pics of ugly hiney ricers.

You know what? I know I'm going to be flamed for saying this, but I kind of think putting racing stripes down the middle of a mustang is kind of rice. The side ones are ok. Maybe I just don't understand what ricing is. But I kind of feel like ricing is putting crap on your car that is unnecessary and just for looks. Then again I might be rice for wanting a ducktail, but I don't think that a ducktail is as conspicuous as puting contrasting racing stripes down the middle of your vehicle.

So with your amazing reasoning, this is Rice

Uh.. Yea, kinda. I appreciate the tradition, but stripes just scream. "Look at me"

Rice is more of something you would do to a car in a distasteful way (park bench for a spoiler, coffee can for an exhaust pipe, etc.).
Those stripes are tasteful.
Anyways, there isnt anything bad with a little tasteful "Look at me" stripes

I think that most of us bought the Mustang because of that factor. If we did not want people looking at us, we would all be driving a Focus or a Civic.
That is what I like about this car, people look and it sparks converstations all the time.
Man, then my car is a dead ringer for Rice-apalooza.
Must say, this is the first time I have ever heard someone say that stripes on a classic car was rice. The mustang has always had the "look at me". Heck, I wanted to make sure mine said "look at me...okay, look again.....ya, ok, you can keep looking
"
There is a fine line between tastefull and absolutely ridiculous. Although this always is in the eye of the beholder, generally "rice" is referred to something cheap, cheesy, and not very well thoughtout.

John,
I agree it is a fine line. I don't mean to talk trash. I just personally feel the striping is uncessary. The car is beautiful as is. I appreciate the shape and styling of the mustang without modifying it too much. I know you put the shaker system in your car, and I think because it's functional, it's ok. But when I see someone with a faux hood scoop, that is definitely ricer territory to me. Same thing I think with side scoops and faux loveurs on the side. To me something has to be functional. Imagine if someone put racing stripes on a porsche. It just doesn't say anything other than look at me. I guess to me its in the same vein as what ricers do. I'd just let the car speak for itself without trying to doll it up with attention getting modifications. I guess I'm a guy who likes to try to stay as close to stock as possible.
