Prices truely hurting your driving?

Due to the massive jump in crude oil as of recent, prices having been soaring on everything. Everything is connected by fuel. You don't see freight ships powered by sails.........

My question to everybody on this site is, Do you really drive your vehicles less now? Be it a Mustang or not. I know I don't go for random cruises anymore. I drive to and from work with my stang and thats it. Everything I need is walking distance of me or I can take the bus, which hasn't taken a jump in price yet. Living with my girlfriend and not having a family, this is easy to manage. But for the people out there with familys, how hard is it drive less?

Has anybody had to give up the mustang yet due to prices?

I drive the same amount I did before. I definitely don't like to pay twice as much to drive the same amount I always did, but I can't make gasoline any cheaper and my car doesn't run on water...

I would say fuel prices have definately slowed my driving down. Just looked at the service sticker on my F250 yesterday. Service "was" due on 6/19 @ 68,000. A month over due and I'm still 1,400 miles short. Mustang was serviced mid May and have only put 560 miles on it in 2 months.

I'd say it I still drive it about the same. Sucks but I knew going into it this car was gonna cost me on gas. Even when prices were $3 a gallon.

I've cut back on joyrides for sure. One of my favorite things in the past was taking a drive for no reason other than to drive... yeah, I haven't done that in a long time. I try to consolidate trips when I can, and minimize the amount of driving that I'm doing overall. Sucks

Same here bud! I would get home from work on Saturday around 5 or so, and if there wasn't a cruise night to head to, I would just get the car out, and drive around (30 miles or so), as it made my day and put a smile on my face! But sadly, that has come to an abrupt end. I'll only do it, if I am heading to/from a car show/cruise night, and it isn't nearly as many miles as in the past. Darn oil prices!!!

My powerstroke Dually has grass growing around it and hasn't even been started in more than a month. Diesel at almost $5/gallon is ridiculous! Thank god it's paid for....I'd hate to see it sitting and having to write a check each month for something not being used.

I drive to nowhere as often as possible.
I live near everything (walking distance a lot of it), I am where people in the area DRIVE TO.
I have therefore been totally unaffected by gas prices.
I am still on the same generous gas budget as last year.

It's off-topic, but could you post a pic of your '64 Marauder?

Yes, but not as much as I thought. Just trying to squeeze a bit more mileage between fill ups and cutting back on other stuff.

Looking at the number of people out Friday night in their 'special' cars I'd say many aren't bothered by fuel prices. At least on Friday night

Been driving a little less, but partly due to contract work where I can spend time at the home computer. I also don't necessarily want to put miles on the '07 I recently acquired in trade for my bolt-on '05. Hmm, now that I say it out loud - it obviously hasn't knocked me off my horse yet, or I wouldn't have upgraded. Then again, a completely logical life would probably fill the sanitarium sooner.

I used to drive every weekend from Florida to Georgia to see my kids. Now not only is gas to expensive for that drive, bus I also live in Virginia. I just missed my whole summer visit. I bought a van so it'd be easier to see my kids and now we can't even afford to gas it up period. It sucks.

I would drive to beach all the time! Now it's just not possible. The days of getting lost with no GPS are gone for now!
