Nissan Recalls 242,000 "cold weather" Trucks

Nissan said today that Pathfinder, Xterra, and Frontier trucks made between 2005 and 2009 in cold weather states only need to have the front airbag trigger sensors replaced due to a rusting condition that can eliminate airbag functionality.

Two things:

1) Why isn't stuff like this plastered on the news and papers like it would be if Ford offered this recall
2) How can Nissan be sure that their truck customers living in "warm weather" states won't move somewhere where this might become an issue?

Replace them all Nissan and suck it up.

That's Why. Just check out the Thread about the Car and Driver, Feb 09 Article in the 2010 Mustang section if you don't believe me.

I don't see much quantifiable evidence anymore that domestic recalls get anymore play than import ones.

In fact, you just posted an import recall that was covered by the Associated Press - which is pretty mainstream.

even still I think if people have been hurt because of an airbag problem and it was GM it would be all over everywhere even more.
