i found it really amazing that that record held for so long. What kind of horsepower did the F1 have anyways? nothing too crazy was it? I mean, on today's standards, like i can think of a couple cars with over 600hp. I guess it was crazy aerodynamic or something. I think the S7 TT should be pretty high up there too, i think its supposed to be about 750hp.
The McLaren F1 has a 6.1 litre, quad-cam, 48-valve V12 that produces no less than 627 bhp and a bespoke six-speed transaxle gearbox.
Radical design features include:
- Central driving position
- ‘Ground-Plane Shear' suspension geometry’
- intelligent brake cooling
- fan-assisted ground-effect aerodynamics

The CCR looks pretty sweet. The headlights almost look like the C6.

ive heard the s7 tt hits 0-60 in 2.7 any truth to that top speed was about 240 if i remember right
217 mph rings a bell for the enzo. Motor Trend got it up to 211 in that Enzo/CarreraGT/FordGT top speed thing. But all the numbers were lower in that one. They got the Ford to 200.1 mph or something, while ford got it up to 212 in italy, according to top gear.
Yeah the Koeingsegg uses a supercharged Ford 4.6 DOHC mod motor, bored alittle to 4.7 liters(why I dont know!) I remember seeing them test this car on Top Gear awhile back, I think I still have the vid somewhere....but that was just the base model this is the "sport" one LOL!
The problem with supercars and how they have kinda plataued alittle lately is because most car makers are become aware that not everyone NEEDS a car that will do 250+, I mean most of the people that can afford these type of cars probably shouldnt be driving in the first place, then take these road missles out on the weekend and start killing themselves in them, well it just looks bad for the company, so they have put in more safety and other stuff to make it easier to drive. Just look at Ferrari, compare the F40 to the F60(Enzo) the F40 was carbon fiber glued together, looked like a kit car for god sake, ran like heck and gave the driver the feeling of driving a race car o nthe road. Now the supercars are so comfy that they should almost be considered GT cars!!
IMHO - If you feel you can drive your supercar for more than an hour max without getting a sore back, headache or a ticket....its not a supercar!
