The new Prius c commercial.
I will start by saying that I do not like these cars to begin with, so there is some slant in my perspective right off the bat. But I gotta say...as a USMC veteran, it truthfully HURTS me that I gave years of my life in service and defense of people who will actually buy this car and/or like this commercial. If ever there was proof of the utter lack of perspective that some people in this country of mine are afflictwd with, it is the existence of this commercial. What depressing drivel. Makes me want to take the oil from my next changing, dump it on the first prius I see, and write in the smear on their windshield, "go back to France!"

commercials of prius cars don't really do it for me, but the prius c is going to be a great car for what it is. Small hybrid great starting price of around 18,000, and does around 50mpgs city\hwy! Will give the compact car segment some competition with more and more people looking for small cars with the best mpg you can get.

Yes by all means let it happen. Let the 'dependence on foreign oil' be replaced with 'dependence on foreign rare earths' for batteries. And let the ground water be poisoned by battery disposal so the last 40 years of efforts at clean water are reversed.

"A large-scale shift from coal-fired electric power plants and gasoline-fueled cars to wind turbines and electric vehicles could increase demand for two already-scarce rare earth elements (REE)—dysprosium and neodymium, available almost exclusively in China—by 600-2,600 percent over the next 25 years, according to a new study published in the ACS journal Environmental Science & Technology...."

...not to mention, hybrids and EV's do absolutely nothing to reduce or eliminate emissions...
Electric cars have been heralded as environmentally friendly, but findings from University of Tennessee, Knoxville, researchers show that electric cars in China have an overall impact on pollution that could be more harmful to health than gasoline vehicles.

Yeah, the Keystone pipeline and domestic oil are the problem.

It would be interesting to see since the one of the reason greenies push the hybrid/full electric agenda so hard is due to the reduction on point of source emissions in cities and such?
On the flip side (this was something you showed me Marv) in 2017 or so all ICE powered vehicles will require an particulate emssions trap similar to what is required for diesels now.
