I have no idea why most of you wouldnt like the utes. I guess because of the pickup trucks you get over in America these would seem like little toys in comparison.

However, these utes are good for what they do. Sedan sized pickup trucks are what they are.
This is another Aussie ute:
HSV Maloo R8

Has the same 400hp 400lb-ft torque 6.0 litre LS2 as found in the Corvette. So yeah, its mad to say the least!

I hang out alot on the Ford Aussie board because i love your cars. Alot of the poeple there wanted to see pics of my Y2K GT and loved it but they all had the same complaint and that was the cheap interior...and as much as I hate to admit it they are right. Even the GTO (Manaro) which is dull as dishwater on the outside has a great interior. I think the fit and finish on the Aussie cars is way beter than comperable cars in america but we are getting there slowly.

Yes i found out about the 2 door vs 4 door thing.. alot f people on the AU Board love the GTHO i did but were bent about the 2 doors. Now i'm not sure when the a 2 door falcon went out of style but i always liked the old 2 doors better so that';s why i did it..but i made the 4 door one to appease the AU masses..
And thank you for the compliments

Ford/FPV F6 Typhoon:

Okay sure, you might not agree that this is a sexy looking car but the stats on it are more creative than anything Ford of America has ever decided to make.
Engine: Turbocharged 4.0 litre 24-valve inline 6
Power output: 380hp @ 5250rpm
Torque: 420lb-ft @ 2000rpm
There arent any performance times available as of yet but you'd imagine this thing would pull circles around a Skyline.
also, why dont we got this for our V6 Stangs? me wants!

Hmm, I don't know if that is the reason ...I'm sure some people ( Doug ) would go for it, but I don't know that it would sell enough to offset the price to import it here from down under...(or rather the price to consumers)

On a related note, a few years back GM displayed a Lumina based El Camino, I believe, and, well, no new El Camino's...

Man if Ford sold that Falcon or Typhoon here I think I would have to have one. Since I have two kids to haul around and I'm so very old(39!), those two extra doors would come in handy. I would still have to figure out a way to get the Mustang too. I love them both!

Its not just a question of what they could do, its more of a question of what the North American people will buy.

Ford have tried a few times with the Euro look and it hasn't been much of a seller.
The North American market is very different from the rest of the planet

Hey when I came to Canada from England in 1982 I though a 3L V6 was Huge, a month later I had a 7L LTD.

I mean if you want to look at what ford can do then look at the Sierra Cosworths, and the Escort Cossworths, not to mention the RS200's, the list goes on.

Those are cars that feel like racecars. I have a 69 Mustang Fastback with a 428CJ in it. Boy its fast, but it handles like a truck and it feels like a tractor at speeds below 50MPH.

However I'm not planning on selling it any time soon as I just love driving it.

I'm still getting an 05 GT for a daily driver though

the inline-6 is a great engine, and GTS has a point asking why Ford America doesn't use it for the V6 Stang

That Typhoon is insane. I'd love to see a T6 in an American Ford sedan.

Keyword here being Australia.

Cost about $10,000 more than a Mustang GT and then you still end up with the steering wheel in the passenger seat.

They look slick though. Wish Ford would consider something like that for Europe, based on the Mondeo's platform. That'd make for a nice non-Mustang Ford.

make that 4, my wife can have one!!

I like the raw power that comes from the Aussie cars, but the power (32v engines etc) comes at a cost. I still think the the Mustang beats the falcon on looks. Either way, I think they are both good cars on their own markets, but would not neccesserily work in each others. Look at the probe/cougar, European design (FWD etc etc), fell on it's **** in the states.

I love some of the trucks, and the picture of the engine glowing red ?

Thanks for all the pics and write-ups GTS
