New M3 Pics From BMW
420 hp at 8300 rpm, and 295 lb-ft at 3900 rpm.
Hardly what I'd call impressive torque numbers.
Can't wait to spank this flatulent Germanic gas bag at the stop light!

It's an awesome car. The price though
I don't feel the performance advantage warrants it's 50% higher price. They're built supurbly though inside and out. If I had the money, oh yea.

There's been no confirmation that the -V will use the Z06's plant. So far, all i've heard is a bunch of GM-heads saying it will becuase they want it to. I'd expect it to use an updated LS2 in the 410+ range. Still more than the 3.5TT, of course, but close enough to be competetive. Of course, since the base MKS wil use a 3.7, a 3.7 TT instead of the 3.5 could easily put Linc at or above 400hp. Long and short is that I wouldn't leap into the CTS-V's arms until we see how the high-end MKS shapes up.

If you'd seen the new CTS at the autoshow, you'd understand why so many people have such high hopes. Its looks, fit and finish give up nothing to its European rivals!

Lincoln has a long, long way to go to catch Cadillac now. That said, I hope they do. Lincoln ought to be, needs to be, the equivalent of Cadillac like it once was.
I like it. Though, to me, it looks a little bloated . . . . like a baby M6.
And I agree Lincoln has a way to go to "catch" Cadillac from a sales and performance standpoint. That being said Lincoln sales were up 10% in March and up 8% YTD and Cadillac sales were down 8.4% in March and down 8% YTD. Still a long way to go . . . but it's a start.

We've got the same problem with Caddy that we do with Chevrolet. The development put behind the Chevy 350 has been quite extensive over the past 3-5 years. Instead of GM dumping their older design, they chose to pour money into it and deveop it. The end result is a technologically advanced, pushrod 350 cubic inch marvel that's kicking some butt and taking some names. Meanwhile Ford darted off in a different direction with our modular engines which have ended up okay, but we all know the performance deficit we've basically had for over 14 years now. The only replacement for displacement is technologically advanced displacement. GM has demonstrated this with flying colors.
Still, $80 and $90,000 GM products just don't flip my trigger. There is so much out there that is nicer and will hold resale far superior I would never spend that money at the GM store.
