That thing rotated over 360 degrees and went completely airborne, the Benz simply squatted and rotated less than 90*. Can you imagine a Smart car hitting something like a Suburban head on? I've got to wonder if it'd land on the Burban's roof!

At least the Fiat didn't go airborne, but it sure does look like it transferred a lot more energy into the passenger compartment. (hitting a different vehicle too though)

 

you also gotta remember, 64kph isn't that fast either!

 

What is more scary to me is that in the smaller cars, due to the greater transferrence of force (Newton rules! ) the driver's heads are completely thrashed about.

Neither of them likely survived... or can walk if they did, IMO.

Might as well get a motorcycle. You'll die either way if you run into something.

 

When my brother was over in Germany he saw that very same scenario; Benz vs. Smart with the same results per his description the smart car flew off the road like a basket ball.

 

Might need some New, magic legs after that...
