Nah, probably more likely to resurrect the "GTS/GSS" for a performance version, should they actually offer one in the future.
Only problem I have with the Dart name is, the slant six is/was a tough and reliable engine. With this car primarily being a FIAT... they better hope it doesn't mean "Fix It Again Tony" like in the past.

Parent company Chrysler has already released a few teasers of the compact sedan's exterior, and now, we're getting our first look inside the new C-segment offering.
Dodge says that the 2013 Dart's interior is all about customization, and that's immediately noticeable with the gauge cluster. As you can see above, the Dart will have offer seven-inch color TFT display in the middle of the instrument panel, allowing the driver to switch between different display modes with a standard analog tachometer and fuel gauge/PRNDL flanking either side. That red glow you see around the IP? That's an available ambient "racetrack" lighting system that not only outlines the cluster, but works its way over to the center stack, as well. Ambient lighting can also be had in the foot wells, door handles, map pockets, glove box, center console storage and cup holders.
Speaking of the center stack, the 2013 Dodge Dart will be available with Chrysler's speedy and well-regarded UConnect infotainment system, displayed on a large, 8.4-inch touchscreen – the largest screen in its class, might we add. We're also told that the Dart's glovebox is cavernous enough to store an Apple iPad, and there will be the usual smattering of auxiliary input jacks throughout the interior to keep you connected to all of your electronic devices.
Adding to the theme of customization, the Dart will be available in 12 different exterior colors and the interior will have 14 possible color and trim configurations. What's more, there will be three different wheel options, three engine choices and three transmissions, along with available safety equipment like blind spot and cross-path detection systems not normally found in this class of vehicle. We'll have the full details in just a few weeks, but for now, scroll through the galleries above to see the full smattering of Dart teasers, and follow the jump for the official press blast.

I think there's a little difference between 500 by Gucci and 500 by Abarth. I don't think we'll be seeing many girls driving a car like this.

I like it, but would not chose it over a Mustang.....
It's a matter of preference and taste. Maybe some people think its cute (which I do not). The red trim does not make it a sports car by any means. Most people in America know nothing about Fiat anyways (except what Clarkson and the gang say about them). Or God forbid J'Lo. Kinda like triumph motorcycles (which I think are cool). Cult following induced by the Brittish. Btw, the Beatles sucked azz! Bottom line(s), the Mini was exciting to see. There are better options out there. I'm gonna laugh at you if I see you driving one as will many others. It's not you, it's the car. If the wife wants one, I will do my best to talk her out of it. I don't like them Sam I Am.
Did J-Lo Fake it for Fiat?

We all know Jenny is from the block, but has she been there recently?
The Smoking Gun is reporting that singer/dancer/actress Jennifer Lopez filmed her scenes for a Bronx-themed commercial for the Fiat 500C subcompact on the other side of the country in Los Angeles.

Unlike the USA where people buy small cars because they can't afford anything bigger, people in Europe buy small cars because they actually want to drive them. I just spent 6 month in Europe and I saw a lot of 500s on the streets. And they're being driven by both males and females of all ages. That's what makes it so successful, I think close to a million were sold since 2007.
And Fiat 500 is not really cheap, I mean, base 500 is only 1,000 euros cheaper that much larger Ford Focus and VW Golf.
Back in the 1960s, 1970s and early 1980s, a Serbian auto-maker Zastava built a Fiat 500 clone (called Zastava 750) under Fiat's license.
It was so popular, even today I saw a lot of them on the streets.
I think they may do well in congested cities with limited parking or distances. I get the point for it. Around most areas, lots of highway driving and distances. I really wouldn't feel comfortable in a 500 at 80mph next to a peterbuilt with a full load.
Yes people usually buy small cars because of economics. And typically, Americans buy as much car as they can afford. (hence V6,GT,Boss,Shelby). Nobody buys a sixer because they "don't need" the power.

Truly you don't think safety has anything to do with it though. I'll feel a bit safer in a bigger vehicle anyways. Maybe a false sense of security but still nice. Status symbol means a lot here. The only small car that an "important" person may drive is a Prius because of "environmental" reasons.
The bigger and fancier, the more desirable here. Not gonna have a economical cars in the drive in one of these cookie cutter suburbs popping up everywhere. Lexus in the drive is a minimum.
