The purple one is in this month's road and track. It is next to the Camaro concept drawings. Supposedly, GM wants to make a Camaro now, with a Concept in 2006 and cars being delivered in 2007. Seems a little quick to me to develop a new car.
They are saying the Camaro will use a live axle version of the platform the Cadillac CTS uses.

I continue to shake my head in dismay. I was around for the frist generation of these cars and if evolution of the species is what is intended, fine. But the retro name/styling is what seems to selling cars these days, and only Ford got it right with the Mustang.
Witness the pathetic sales of the GTO. A classic name, a forgettable reintroduction.
This car is going down the same path. I would have said road, but I doubt that you'll see many of them on one.

I don't see why a car has to look like all of your other cars at all. The mustang doesn't look like any of fords other products but it still does a pretty good job advertising for them. I barely even looked at the other fords until I started coming here because of the new mustang.
