Why do people do that crap? I usually see 1-2 cars catch fire every year at work and flames will be rolling out of the vehicle and inevitably either the owner will try to save the crap in thier car or a bunch knuckleheads will try in vain to put the car out with no success.

In every case, the fire department was the only entity successful in stopping the fire.

I've never seen a car explode due to a fire with exception of the battery and tires but I suppose the it could happen given the right circumstances.

IMO let it burn, thats what you have insurance for and its really cheaper to replace the car than to haul a couple people off to the burn ward.

It was like a CHIPS episode.

Hate it for the guy though, has to make you sick to lose a car like that when showing off was apparently part of what got him there.
