New BMW M3 price is out!

http://www.topgear.com/content/news/stories/1791/

BMW has announced the price of its new M3, which will come in at £50,625.
That's the UK price and it's the equivalent of US$ 101,350 as of today's conversion rate. I wonder how much it will actually cost in the States...

Some new pics:

There's no way it'll cost more than an M5.

Cars in Europe cost a lot more than in the USA. I expect price similar to Audi RS4 (maybe around $65,000).

For sure, the article says the M3 will be priced similarly with the RS4 in the UK, most likely the US prices will keep that ratio.

It will cost $50k. Check out everyother vehicle out there they always go for the same amount of pounds as dolloars. It's just to coversion rate that gets us. My Hummer goes for about 36k pounds here... guess what... that is how many dolloars it cost.

By the way I just move to England 3 days ago and I am AMAZED at how many high $$$ cars I ahve seen here. M3 by the slew, Bently GTs, etc

'06 M3 with V6 and 333 hp was $50,000. I doubt V8 and 420 hp will cost the same.

I6 you mean?

But i do agree that a higher HP V-8 would cost more....not to mention all of the other tech that they are going to put into the car. And is that a carbon fiber roof panel too? that'll drive the price up

I was talking to the fleet manager at the local dealer here where they are eagerly awaiting this car, have people lined up to buy one and they are planning on marking them up to around 100K and they will get it. The M6s when they first came out were marked up almost 100% and they were selling them before they got them. But he was telling me he expected them to MSRP at a base price somewhere around the 65K-70K range, which sounds about par to what I would expect from BMW. Fully loaded you can easily be in the 80+ range out the door without a markup.

if you look at the history of the price increases of the M3s over the last two models this also would make sense. The E36 (94-99) was based at 35-36K and 240hp, ran 0-60 in 6 sec and 1/4 in 14.6. The current E46 (02-06) bases at about 50K (a 15K increase) and 333hp, runs 0-60 in 5.0 sec and 1/4 in 13.5. So everything seeming to be repeating itself, from the same model year gap between M3s to the additional approx. 90hp increase (as with the difference of the last two). So a 15K increase to 65K would make sense. Too bad the car wont get the same performance increase, I doubt it will be running in the 12s and a 0-60 in 4 flat. It would be nice but I doubt it.

I agree, but that will be all she has in the kitty IMO. This wont be like a GT500 or Terminator where learning how to really drive the car will set you apart from the crowd with really good time. My guess is that, in a straight line, a decent driver is likely to do as well as a really good one with the new M3. And while that may be great for the decent drivers I think a car like this should make you work for it just a little.

I agree. Generally V-8 + BMW = $10,000-$15,000 bump.
