My new Blazer
Heres a pic of my new 2004 Blazer. Gotta keep the miles low on my Mach1. : )Shes pretty much loaded (sunroof, cd changer, etc.) with the exception of leather seats. Only had 6200 miles on her.
Who would want a Bronco based off the Escape platform anyway, that's what they'd do if it were to come. Guess the reason it isnt coming is because they are smart not to bring something out if it isnt done right, like :cough: GM :cough:
Uncle had a Blazer 4 door for his wife and hated it, bought it brand new from dealer fully loaded and he sold it because it was such a powerless mutt, it had more issues, but i dont remember them. He loved it at first, but after awhile he HATED it. I hope you have good luck with yours. If i can i will give u list of problems he had. Might of been he was just picky. Yours looks gr8. Congrats! I hope all does go well for you.
What size engine did his have? Mine has a 4.3 and believe me its no dog. Sounds like he might of had the 2.3. I agree it might not be the most reliable vehicle on the road, but I love the looks and I couldnt pass up the price. It depreciated $12,000 in one year.

i rememeber back when "2000" was thought to be the end of the world. ahh good times
For some reason i thought it was only in canada that they still sold the Blazer and Jimmy. Everybody really seemed to abandon that market segment, smallish two door suvs. I see 2-door explorers all over the place in montreal. I guess there are those people with no kids but who want 4x4 for the snow.
They had that Bronco concept a year ago. I like the escape a lot, i wonder what a two door version would look like. I know its not as rugged as the bronco was, but how many bronco owners actually needed that ruggedness? Maybe out in the country its different, but Urban Off-Roaders are pretty pointless. I think Motor Trend said it best, talking about Luxury SUVs like the Navigator, Range Rover, G500, stuff like that: "They'll never be driven off road, but they really come in handy when your typical suburban Rhinoceros charges at you."
something like that anyways.
I'd love a two-door, hybrid escape with the no-boundaries roof rack. Perfect for lugging camping gear, mountain bikes, snowboards, instruments, looks pretty nice, without feeling as guilty about that nasty yellow cloud over my city in the middle of winter.
