More competition for Edge
#4
FMC needs to stay on top with the Edge and not neglect it. (Needs better brakes!) I think Edge's design is better than its competition, but it needs some improvements to keep charging forward.
I see this Toyota either putting a dent in Edge sales, or taking away from Camry sales . . .

Its about as ugly as it comes. Toyota's staple crossover Highlander was unable to top Edge sales, even with an all-new model. Looks like an also-ran idea from Toyota, the typical 'hey we make one of those' routines. With Toyota taking hits left and right on reliability issues as of late, and most other makes making stylish and reliable products, it will be interesting to see how long Toyota continues to see success with boring products that are being outclassed in style, performance, and features. The current quest to spit out as many 4-wheel boxes on dated platforms to claim #1 status is very reminicient of 1996 Nasser-era Ford. Looks very 'Kia' to me.

Toyota keeps churning out one jellybean shaped turdmobile after the next. Meanwhile, American automakers are beginning to get that old mojo back. Personally, I can't wait to see Cadillac grind Lexus under its boots with cars like this >>
Sorry, went a bit off topic there - but it does illustrate an interesting point that vehicles like this are sneaking up on - and overtaking - their Japanese competitors...and even giving the Europeans something to take notice of.
Besides, any chance to flog that new CTS coupe on the boards...

No way this will even dent the Edge's sales this is yet another butt ugly car from the company who put a trade mark on that statement. Seriously this thing is ugly, looks like the freak love child of a Santa Fe and a Caliber. As a side note who the F*** told Toyota that the Camry's front end was a good idea to use as their "trademark grille" YUCK!

Front end hideous, back end somewhat Mazda-ish. I'm sure with a lack luster, boring interior, the only takers will be Toyota faithfuls who will brag of their "superior quality". Anyone know the price?

It will probably have decent sales because its a Toyota and they built a loyal following in the early 2000s, but man that thing is not attractive to me. I dont think its messing with the Edge though. A loaded Edge is one sexy vehicle. My mother has an 04 Murano, and even she is attracted to the Edge.
And holy **** that CTS is hot!

Everybody keeps saying that it looks too much like Camry.
Why is that a bad thing?
In case you didn't hear - Toyota sold over 430,000 Camrys in 2007.

Yep...and every last one of them is a piece of sh*t.
And I say that as an '80s Toyota owner and enthusiast.
Man has that company gone downhill. Talk about resting on past glories.
Borrowing a chapter from Detroit's recent past, apparently.
