The Challenger still doesn't quite match the good looks of the current Mustang, but it's not bad at all. I like it. However, if the current Mustang had rear fender flares ("hips") and available in a fastback model, it would be near perfect, IMO. For me, under those circumstances, nothing could touch it visually. I'm afraid that future iterations (2009 and beyond) are going to mess it up, though. I don't want a car that looks like a spaceship. That Giugiaro concept? Yuck!

Similarly, the Camaro is just plain ugly. I could've sworn reading somewhere that the production Camaro was going to be nearly identical to the concept...as if that were a good thing. Hopefully, I'm mistaken.

From the front the Camaro has the powerful, in your face looks that muscle cars need to have, but the first time I ever saw the car, I saw the front, and I was like whoa, I might buy one of these, then I saw the side view, and actually laughed. The lines on the front dont match the sides at all.

So to say the E body is based entirely off the B-body is a bit of an overstatement to put it dipolmaticaly.
I didn't say it, the classic car restoration experts did, what do I know about old mopars?

Yea it looks like a bad widebody kit. But those are one-offs having no production parts and don't have to follow any safety/production/cost limitations. I never really understood where they were going with the show car's design in the first place. If you look at it carefully for a while, none of it really blends well. Go out and look hard at a production Mustang and go back and look at the packaging in the show car-not to mention how the proportions will all change for production. People are so happy the word Camaro was stuck on it no-one really takes a good look at it. We Mustang enthusiasts were never abandoned by its manufacturer, so we take it for granted and get used to the 'new' ones very quickly. Its not some show car thats the only thing to wear the badge in 5 years

Funny if you go back and look at the SSR it became a huge pig in execution from the original idea. They even made the seats GIGANTIC so the vehicle looks smaller, they are like 1 1/2 times the size they look from a distance. Next time you see one, look at the seats, its hillarious.

You are mistaken...but not for the reasons you think.

The new Camaro is hot.
